WhItE SoX Winner
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 12, 2017 -> 07:49 AM) There was nothing he did that reminded me of Floyd, at all. The ball exploded from his hand, he reminded me of the first time I saw Yordano Ventura Same here, Ventura is exactly who comes to mind for Lopez. The Floyd comp is much better suited for Giolito.

Young guys doing it again. Great pitching, defense and great base running with that speed. This is some seriously fun baseball to watch. Let's go out and snag game two tomorrow. Love being the spoiler.

QUOTE (Sox-35th @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 09:59 PM) This would be a hell of a tank loss. I thought for sure Clippard would suck but he hasn't been too bad. Still don't know WTF he was thinking on that grounder.

Geez Clippard. Do you know what inning it is? Edit: better question. Did you even remember there was a runner on first?

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 08:23 PM) Yolmer has me cracking up man. This guy plays defense with a chip on his shoulder if that's possible. He was all ready to make the crazy catch over the rail then seemed mildly pissed it was just an easy play for him. Same here dude. I was cracking up at Yolmer after that catch.

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 07:57 PM) Stuff wise, it's Kopech and Lopez way above everyone else Agreed but I don't think Hansen is far behind Kopech and Lopez. Hansen has a pretty nice four pitch mix.

I knew the Fastball and Curve ball were nasty but that Change Up! Damn....
-
Royals at ReyLo Game Thread -The ReyLo Game-
That change up has some really some really good drop as the ball gets to home plate. Nasty stuff.

Sox acquire Ryan Burr for int'l pool $$$
That's a really nice arsenal to work with, especially for a reliever. Another interesting arm to keep an eye on.

Who has best farm system: ATL or Sox?
If Moncada is still a prospect then the edge goes to the Sox but if Moncada is not in the mix then ATL by a slim margin. Take Moncada and Acuna out of it, and the Sox are still on top. And no, I am not unbiased.

A Star is Born
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 09:44 AM) And still currently have the second pick. All is going according to plan. Sidenote: how have the Giants played four more games than us? Seriously man, all is going according to plan. Hahn laid this out last winter and we're now just beginning to see talent emerge. That rebuild has gone perfect so far, IMHO. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 10:05 AM) I'm surprised the board is not talking about Moncada as well. He is essentially the key piece to our rebuilding effort and he just had a superstar performance last night. Even though wins do not matter moving forward in 2017, this game felt oddly significant and a glimpse into what our very bright future holds. Moncada has all the potential to become a star player for the White Sox. Yeah, I don't get either. The future star of the White Sox just had his first huge night and the names Sale and Eaton come up. It's just plain dumb. Just wait until the off season, when those who refuse to let go, start whining about Sale winning his first CY in a Boston uni. Forget the names of the future (Moncada/Kopech/Hansen/Jimenez/Burger/titsonbull) , because with the chronic whiners, it's all about what the Sox haven't done and not about what they are doing or the future. They still cling to their Hero's of old. I kinda like the hero, Yoan Moncada. He's pretty good.

A Star is Born
This is hilarious. Moncada hits a game tying HR, then the game winning single and people are stil whining about Sale. Seriously, you've had 9 months to accept he's gone, get over it already. Anyway. I am f***ing thrilled with the trades and the Sox sweep over the Astros. Some younger guys are stepping up and contributing to these wins, as a fan, this is exactly the way I'd like to them win.

A Star is Born
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 08:51 AM) How in the world can people still hold on to this? This is 100% laughable. Yeah and especially since its known that Hahn was wanting to rebuild before the Sale/LaRoche/Eaton Saga's. Which means Hahn was willing to deal them before all that stuff but JR was pushing to try and win one more. I don't deny the antics of those players ticked off some folks in the FO but those antics are not why those players were traded. * wanders off in search of tin foil batters helmet *

8/9
Guerrero and Adams rebounded very well after a lack luster 2016 season so maybe Fulmer can do the same next year. Fulmer should continue to start until he earns a call up or the Sox rotation fills out with the likes of Rodon, Lopez, Kopech, Hansen, Dunning, at which point Fulmer can then be converted to a reliever. I think Fulmer has the repertoire and mental makeup to be an electric Closer if things don't work out for him as a starter.
