  1. yep, that alomar who just doubled
  2. Damon played in Chicago last time Manny only sat one game They didn't have the relievers they have now, but on the field it's the same team The White Sox, however, didn't have Alomar or Everett and the White Sox did have Koch, who blew the fourth game in the 10th inning
  3. anybody else trying, but failing, to get the game on the radio at mlb.com click on the Sox icon and it gives you Skip Caray and the freakin Braves.
  4. I listen to the games via the internet on mlb.com radio tonight, when you click on the white sox icon, you get the Braves-Mets game. been that way for 20 minutes ANYBODY have a number to get the problem resolved. VERY ANNOYING!! HELP!
  5. kudos to Jeremy started hot at Winston-Salem -- and then got hotter when he moved up to tougher competition. to hit over .400 at AA is astounding. throw in his sick walk-strikeout numbers and you've got a 5-star hitting prospect. Can't wait to see him try to make the club next season.
  6. Royals are used to being ahead. if we can push them 4 or 5 behind, i think that with their pitching problems, they finally stop getting by on grit and enthusiasm. At least I hope so. Twinkies, I really can't figure out. There's no doubt that team should have a better record but I think they have too many guys worrying about 2004 contracts. They haven't hit and I'm sure they expected more from Cuddyer, Restovich and Morneau. And it didn't help them when Milton went down.
  7. Dontrelle has hit the wall. If the writers are playing attention, Webb gets NL Rookie of the Year. let's just hope the Unit does his work. Arizona still in the hunt for the wildcard so they should dial it up.
  8. Brazil? Australia? I thought I was dedicated. Hats off to both of you!!!!! Need to beat Burkett tonight to start the homestand right. He beat Colon last time around.
  9. let's hope Cotts can do what Olivo did last year -- have a strong playoff and carry some positive thoughts into the off season.
  10. it appears that Thursday is Randy Johnson's scheduled day to pitch and Thursday is the day Arizona will be in KC for that makeup game. here is a report from ESPN.com 6. The Throwback Matchup of the Week Arizona at Kansas City: Thursday. Throwback to earlier in the summer, anyway. This was back when interleague play ruled the day. Thanks to a rainout, we have this mild form of anachronism in the post-Labor Day environment. The Royals schedule this week is not a pleasant one. They fly in from Dallas late Wednesday night, face Randy Johnson (albeit in a reduced capacity) on Thursday afternoon and then leave for Anaheim. That sounds like a pretty intense 24 hours. Of course, it's not like they have to carry their own luggage or anything like that ?
  11. wouldn't want to put my fate in the hands of Kevin Witt and Ramon Santiago as well as Danny Patterson
  12. I don't believe Reed is on the 40-man roster. Plus, Birmingham is in the playoffs. They need him. and he's going to the Arizona Fall League. we won't see Reed. Plus, Borchard already has some experience in The Show.
  13. don't remind me I sat through two of them -- Gary Knotts beating Loaiza in late May and Perez of San Diego beating Garland on U.S Open Sunday in June not much fun.
  14. heck I thought Josh Paul always hustled. And he could run. And sometimes bunt. he just can't hit -- or throw out baserunners. Other than that, he's flawless.
  15. Just like to see us play the Royals and Twinkies with a lead, not a deficit, and keep the pressure on them. Especially the Twinkies. Every time we have played them since 2001 it seems we have always had to go into the Metrodome and sweep them.
  16. What about Rauch? he had a solid year and might have to be in the rotation next year, depending upon what happens to Bartolo and the fifth starter spot.
  17. konerko wasn't getting much love pre-all-star game my personal favorite was Julio Ramirez, when Manuel insisted on playing him in center field the first six weeks in 2001 His batting average made Clayton look like Wade Boggs. And how quickly we forget Ricky Henderson himself -- D'Angelo Jimenez
  18. let's shoot for 88 or 90 just to be safe one caveat in all this is the 7 games KC and Twinkiedom both have with the Tigers
  19. still be good to bring Borchard up to pinch hit, play defense or even pinch run good to see he finished over. 250 for the season after languishing in the .220 for most of the season. let him get a taste of a real pennant race also nice to see Reed finish the year over. 400 at Birmingham My question: What kind of prospect is Bajernu? seems as if he finished the season strong
  20. you betcha -- plus we get to rest our pitching rotation
  21. all 27 twinkies down THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!!!!!! Royals and Twinkies start September the right way -- with losses.
  22. G. Glove in to nail down the final three outs in this Angels victory
  23. take it -- and keep moving upward Wonder if Manny Ramirez will play against the Sox. story on espn.com today saying BoSox management was pissed at him. He missed a couple of games in the Yankees series because he said he was sick -- but he was seen socializing with Yankee players at the team hotel. club president uttered a terse NO COMMENT love to see Manny sit out the visit to The Cell
