The funniest one I saw, even though I hate the player, was the Mariners one with Bret Boone flipping numerous different things after he was done using them, ala his bat flip after his homers. I was laughing my ass off. But I agree, the best commercials are the ones with the players in them. The Sox started to do that last season, I liked those ones, they should try again. The Magglio Bobble head doll one was f***ing great. It's the same appeal of the Paulie Sportcenter commercial, they're sports players, and can't act, that's exactly why it's funny.
