  1. Thank you for your info. The paying for parking twice annoys me.
  2. Feel free to move this thread to a better spot, but I felt posing it on the main forum would get me the best responses. I'm going to my first game of the year on Thursday night, and of course the forecast is calling for a half inch of heavy rain that night. My guess is, with Toronto not coming back to town and the two don't play each other in another series this year, the game will probably be played as part of a double-header on Friday or Saturday. Here is my question: how does this work? If I show up at the game and pay for parking and they end up postponing it, would I have to pay for parking again for the makeup? Would I be able to get into the 2nd game free if it is played after the makeup game? Do they kick you out of the park? Any other valuable info I should know about makeup games? I've never been to one. Kind of hoping it gets postponed tbh and I get a different starter...right now Covey is lined up to pitch Thursday night Thank you kindly, Scoots.
  3. That was one scenario. I was trying to make the point that plugging things into a computer doesn't solve the problem. You need managers to think about things that computers wouldn't be able to (at least right now) to make a decision.
  4. Thanks. Yeah I knew whatever happened with Rodon it wasn't gonna be good. Ive just been out of tune with Sox news the last couple days. I'm going to my first game of the year on Thursday night and was hoping to see Eloy, but if he's gonna do a rehab stint it's probably not gonna happen. Now with Leury hurt...ughhh. It also looks like Covey is lined up to be the starter. Just my luck lol.
  5. Speaking of injuries...has there been any updates on Eloy? Rodon?
  6. Forgot bout Cordell...probably that is what happens
  7. So many damn injuries. Now what...Tilson to center and Rondon to right?
  8. Leury should sue Toronto like that one player sued us for the electrical box lol
  9. This is what I am concerned about. I don't like the idea of sitting the hottest hitter in the lineup for 2 days in a row even if he is a catcher. Let him ride the hot streak until he cools off a bit. Idk, maybe the rest will allow him to sustain it longer.
  10. Sure, the hitter after that is hot too. Didn't take into account the IBB. Point is, there are situations where it is acceptable, strategic, and even necessary.
  11. Exactly. I think this whole bunting issue is just compounded because the Sox just suck in general. It wouldn't be a thing. I don't think bunting should be used as much as Ricky uses it, to be completely honest, but I think this whole idea that it should just go away completely is ludacris. There are situations in baseball in non-pitcher hitting situations where the bunt is completely acceptable and strategic.
  12. It's the 8th inning. You are down by a run. Its Runners on 1st and 2nd, nobody out. The runner on 2nd is slow but the runner on first has some wheels. You have a notorious ground ball hitter at the plate, and he doesn't necessarily have a good history of high exit velocity. He's on a cold streak, 0 for last 10. In fact, he is in the top 20% of hitters in the league who have hit into double plays for the year. It's August, so he has had plenty of ABs. He's got decent speed, despite the high double play percentage, and has15 stolen bases on the year so far. He has proven in the past that he can get the bunt down. The opposing team's pitcher is a sinkerballer with good control. ERA in the high 2s, and has thrown many DPs. The next hitter is hot and has been driving in runs like crazy, like 4 homeruns in the last 4 games with 15 RBIs. So far in the game he is 3-3 with a double and a homer, 2 rbis. Actually he is 7-10 lifetime against the sinkerballer. The 3 outs he did make were flyballs to the outfield. No one is warming in the bullpen. Plug that shit into a computer What would you do as a manager in this situation? (I read the article)
  13. I swear if he puts Alonso back at cleanup tomorrow behind Abreu...
  14. So predictable. Idk why they keep talking up Alonso like he's gonna break out soon...I see no signs of this.
  15. Abreu is retiring a White Sock. He will not be traded this season, he will receive an extension and rightfully so. He is blocking no one and there isn't anyone on the market better than him. He still has some good years left. He's staying. And for his sake, he wants to stay, I really hope he stays long enough to at least win a playoff round with the Sox. He's been on losing teams his whole career. Dude definitely deserves to end it on a winning note.
  16. Soo who is out long man now with Covey in the rotation? Marshall?
  17. I guess Leury has a thumb issue? Abreu just missed that...damn wind.
  18. That is why you bunt. Stop hating on it. It worked perfectly there and was executed just as planned.
  19. And thay is why Anderson and Charlie should be hitting in the top half of the lineup, not effing Yonder Alonso and Welington Castillo. Base hit here ties it.
