  1. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Apr 7, 2018 -> 04:05 PM) Id rather just leave Gio in to be honest.gains experience working through a jam and saves us from the bullpen for an inning. One more baserunner and he is done.
  2. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Apr 7, 2018 -> 04:02 PM) Giolito is done Can't wait to see what the pen has in store for us today.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 7, 2018 -> 03:32 PM) What an ugly swing. He's just not a major leaguer He just looks so over-matched. Almost like he is afraid to swing sometimes.
  4. That inside fastball to Sanchez moved like a whiffle ball.
  5. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Apr 7, 2018 -> 03:21 PM) I think that's just his demeanor.the Jay Cutler syndrome. Personally I feel he's been real solid so far, offensively and defensively Just made a close play there at 2nd. Let's see if the review
  6. QUOTE (Tony @ Apr 7, 2018 -> 03:19 PM) I can honestly say the loss on Thursday didn’t bother me at all. Of course I’d love for them to win, we all would. But when Soria blows that game, I guy that may not even be here in August, let alone 2019 and 2020, I really don’t care at all. I’m watching to see Moncada, Anderson, Gio, Lopez, etc. You want to see how these guys perform in certain situations, trends, growth, etc. Exactly.
  7. QUOTE (Tony @ Apr 7, 2018 -> 03:05 PM) HILLARIOUS!!!!!11 Giolito is 23 years old and has had his mechanics completely torn down and rebuilt. I know it ruins your Saturday for him to give up two runs in the 3rd inning, but it helps no one to remove him in the third inning. Amazes me how quickly people forget this is a rebuilding year, and is, in fact, contrary to what a lot of people believe, supposed to be the most difficult year of the rebuilding process to watch. The development year. These things are going to happen. Not only will they happen, but they will happen a lot this year. People better get used to it or start watching something else. Me personally, not looking for Ws. They are secondary. I'm watching for how these guys learn and grow. That's the fun part of this year.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 7, 2018 -> 02:45 PM) Why is Engel dipping so much on his swing. Looks absolutely awful Yeah, he wasn't even close on that fastball. I even knew that pitch was coming. He checked at 2 fastballs right in the zone, like he didn't know where the pitches were.
  9. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 5, 2018 -> 08:19 PM) And here come the trolls
  10. Greene has a pretty nasty slider...
  11. Hawk's dying guys!!!! Where's Frazier??
  12. This game is going to be a big test for this team. How are they going to come back from a debilitating and embarrassing loss such as this one.
  13. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 5, 2018 -> 07:48 PM) Not really, only because before the site went down, we were getting in a lot of arguments about when the team would be competitive and the thought was this was another tank year. One of the reasons is the team made no attempt to improve the bullpen in the offseason. Soria doesn't count. Find the thread where I wrote about how all the fans in KC were rejoicing at Soria leaving town. He is horrific and fits into the one more season of tank theory. I mean I love fans rooting for us to win in the game threads but it hasn't been that way last season at least. Rooting for losses was huge. I just assume we have one more year of tanking in our team. Semantics. This is more of a "development" year than a "tank" year.
  14. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 5, 2018 -> 07:43 PM) Don't forget we're still trying to tank. I picture Hahn nodding in privacy saying, "Just how we planned this." Lot of highlights but let the bullpen blow it. Sarcasm?
  15. If the Sox walk-off here, I will enjoy the celebration, but not really sure they deserve to do it. That being said, they better do it in the 9th, because that pen is gonna give up a run or 5 in the 10th if they don't.
  16. Uglyyyyyy. Leury needs to ride the pine for a week after that half-assed play.
  17. Coop needs to remind Soria we need 27 outs, not 26.
  18. Like I said...need those insurance runs. This pen is pretty ugly.
  19. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 5, 2018 -> 07:24 PM) I knew it when this guy was hitting 280 in AA and AAA as a 20/21 year old the Sox might have something. He's always been criminally under-rated even among Sox fans imo. With that glove he never had to hit much to be useful. Now that he's hitting he's a solid regular, hell he might even be turning into a star. Absolutely. I always favored him even over Micah Johnson when he was supposed to be our 2nd baseman of the future.
  20. Yolmer Sanchez is quickly becoming one of the most underrated 3rd baseman in the game.
  21. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Apr 5, 2018 -> 07:17 PM) They have a day off Friday Yep. Give Jones 3 days rest. Pitched yesterday, 20 pitches today. Can't be too careful.
  22. YOLMER!!! On that note, Jones shouldn't pitch the rest of the weekend lol. That arm is too precious.
  23. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 5, 2018 -> 06:59 PM) I think they could score 800 runs this year. Might give up 850 though. Right. I think the run differential will ultimately what does them in. The rotation right now is decent...will be solid once Rodon comes back, and when Kopech gets here, it will be close to dominant (assuming health). But the pen largely relies on the performance (and, again, health) of Jones and Soria. They go, then the 6th inning on for Sox baseball will be very hard to watch.
  24. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 5, 2018 -> 06:57 PM) Not sustainable but it sure is a nice change from corpseball. Yeah I don't think it is sustainable either, but I don't think it would be unreasonable for them to finish in the top 6 or 7 in the American league in offensive numbers.
  25. The White Sox currently lead all of baseball in OPS...by 31 points (According to MLB.com). 1=Sox at .898 2=ATL (wow) at .857 And this is after a week of baseball. Sustainable? They also lead the league in homers by 14.
