QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Feb 23, 2018 -> 03:56 PM) And then Moncada botches a pickle by lightly tossing the ball in to the runners back.....and the runner was pretty much giving up. Ugh. That's what these games are for lol. Iron out the wrinkles. Rick will probably have them practice their relays after the game or something.

Good ole Trayce Thompson. Who did we trade him for again?

QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 23, 2018 -> 03:31 PM) Not free, it likely automatically renewed No, I stopped it from renewing a few days ago because I am broke right now lol. If it's not free idk how I'm watching... Unless it's carryover from last year or something.

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Feb 23, 2018 -> 03:14 PM) Oh s*** you're right. I just went there and accessed the mlbtv link without realizing it (I share an account with like 6 other people. It must have auto-renewed). Like I said I think it's free because I know I haven't been paid yet and I can still watch

QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Feb 23, 2018 -> 03:10 PM) All I see is the mlb.tv link, not the typical webcast that Russ Langer hosts. Lucky for me my buddy let me use his MLB.tv account so I am able to watch Abreu strike out just now, but still misleading to not have a Sox webcast of it. I'm pretty sure the game is free. I have a mlb.tv account but haven't paid yet for the upcoming season. And I'm currently watching on mlb.tv. Nice play by Yolmer there.

Man is it good to see our guys on the field again

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 23, 2018 -> 03:43 PM) Bruce Levine @MLBBruceLevine 43m43 minutes ago Micker Adolfo of the White Sox strained ACL in right arm - Sprained flexor in same arm. Will miss minimum of 6 weeks and more if surgery is needed. The Adolfo injury is UCL and Flexor tendon not ACL . Isn't Micker known for his arm strength? I wonder if this injury will hinder that at all.

Does anyone know how legit this rumor is or is it just pure speculation

QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 18, 2018 -> 03:37 PM) Ha, and he's gone from i think denver to san diego to chicago to minnesota. Quite the weather downgrades. I would say San Diego is probably an upgrade in weather compared to Denver no? Unless you are just comparing those two to the other two

For what it's worth, Nicky Delmonico said on today's White Sox podcast with Garfein that he thinks Engel will be the breakout player of the year. Said Engel has really worked on his swing over the off-season and looked great at hitters camp. Again, for what it's worth...
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 17, 2018 -> 11:32 AM) At least in my eyes, Engel hasn't fully been beaten yet, but Leury has passed him. They should both make the roster out of ST, but barring any amazing changes in ST, Leury should be in CF on opening day and Engel should have to earn the position back. Agreed

QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 16, 2018 -> 12:57 PM) He's seen so little baseball of the level he should be. I'm hoping for a quick take-off, but I'm nervous he's going to struggle right away and get frustrated Yeah, I think Spring Training will give us a good idea of kind of where he is at, but my expectation is that he will struggle for the majority of this season and kind of figure it out towards the end.

QUOTE (wrathofhahn @ Jan 12, 2018 -> 01:46 PM) MLBTR had him projected at 17.9 strange he would agree to such a below the line contract without going to ARB. It will definitely cost him next year. Maybe there is an extension in the works... Also I don't think Jose really cares much about projected contracts, considering where he's coming from.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 11, 2018 -> 12:28 PM) Shields could be dropped to the pen also and no one would be mad. Heck, with a rotation that young I wouldn't mind going to a 6 man rotation for a few weeks either if the roster could take it. True. I also suppose Fulmer would also be a bullpen candidate depending on his early starting performances.
-
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jan 11, 2018 -> 12:21 PM) So the rotation on opening day is shaped up to be: Giolito, Lopez, Fulmer, Gonzalez, Shields (no specific order)? Yup looks about right. Feels good to have some stability. Barring injuries, MiGo probably goes to the pen when Rodon comes back.

QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Dec 26, 2017 -> 08:48 PM) Pretty sure reference is to starting pitching. Shields, Fulmer, Lopez, Giolito, Covey is your starting five until we know what's up with Rodon. After those five there's Kopech, Hansen, Dunning and Cease. There's a lot of RH depth. LH depth is Jordan Guerrero, Ian Clarkin and Bernardo Flores. None of which are ranked nearly as high as the RH depth. There's definitely a shortage of LH starting pitchers in the Sox organization. Which is odd, because I feel like they have had a plethora of them over the years, and dominant ones to boot. -
QUOTE (Sleepy Harold @ Dec 20, 2017 -> 11:02 AM) Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal #Orioles GM Dan Duquette just told @masnRoch regarding Machado trade discussions: “I’m not sure we’re going to focus on that much more after tomorrow.” Things always can change, but O’s clearly not satisfied with offers so far. Aren't satisfied? They want two young pitching prospects controllable for over 4 years for 1 year rental. I'm starting to think the Orioles are a poorly run team. I mean, I guess the best they can do now is wait for the trade deadline and trade him to a desperate team then, but what do they really think they are going to get here?
-
QUOTE (hi8is @ Dec 17, 2017 -> 11:07 PM) Well - the week ended. He wasn't traded. I'm giving up on following this circus. Same. All overvalued speculation for a slow ass off-season and posturing... nothing else.

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 16, 2017 -> 02:29 PM) No it's actually not because the Indians were always getting that pick. That was factored in. Here's the draft order. 1. Tigers 2. Giants 3. Phillies 4. White Sox 5. Reds 6. Mets 7. Padres 8. Braves 9. Athletics 10. Pirates 11. Orioles 12. Jays 13. Marlins 14. Mariners 15. Rangers 16. Rays 17. Angels 18. Royals 19. Twins 20. Twins 21. Brewers 22. Rockies 23. Yankees 24. Cubs 25. Diamondbacks 26. Red Sox 27. Nationals 28. Astros 29. Indians 30. Dodgers 31. Rays (Alex Cobb) 32. Royals (Eric Hosmer) 33. Royals (Lorenzo Cain) 34. Royals (Mike Moustakas) 35. Rockies (Greg Holland) 36. Indians (Carlos Santana) Competitive Balance Round A 37. Pirates 38. Rays (Comp, failure to sign Rasmusses) 39. Orioles 40. Padres 41. Diamondbacks 42. Royals 43. Indians 44. Rockies 45. Cardinals 2nd Round 46. Tigers 47. Giants 48. White Sox The Royals have 5 picks in the first 42...that's nuts
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 17, 2017 -> 04:50 PM) Saw that post and same guy mentioned Giolito AND Lopez Yeah, that won't happen. I recall Ken Rosenthal saying the Orioles are a very difficult and unpredictable team to deal with. Very different operations than most other clubs. They might ask for something like a Gio and Lopez, then do some negotiating with Hahn, be right at the brink of getting a deal done, then pull back at the last second. This might be one of those we gotta see it to believe it cases happening.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 17, 2017 -> 04:22 PM) Went on the O's board and they have a member claiming to be in the know saying this: "No idea on specific offers. Haven’t been told yet. Just that offers got significantly better last night and talks really progressed. Haven’t seen anyone say anything on social media yet or any reports out there, but it will be coming." Yeah, I've read a couple current articles so far today that have said the White Sox and, uh, the DBacks of all teams, have shown the most serious interest in this. One of the articles was on MLBTR. Could be wrong, but I have a feeling this is just the slow beginning of a second wave of social media reports regarding Machado.
