  1. To think, there are teams with worse records than the White Sox. How frustrating must it be for those fans if we are the way we are with what we have in the White Sox.
  2. Annnd this is why we called another long reliever
  3. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 05:34 PM) houston has been scuffling a little, might not be a bad time to play them. The team did win both series last year against Houston. I think they even swept them once. On the other hand, that was the first strikeout of the game? Wow, maybe the weather does play a part in the Sox offense...
  4. QUOTE (Richie @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 05:31 PM) It is. It's also a huge relief. You can feel the guys relaxing a bit. I know Houston is coming to town, but I really hope this is the start of at least a 3 game win streak. They need to win a bit right now and remember what it feels like. Especially at home.
  5. Our run producer produces. Beautiful hit there. So nice to finally be hitting with RISP again.
  6. FINALLY. Cannot WAIT start following this kid. Ya know, it is so weird calling these guys kids. I am 23 years old...a lot of them are literally younger than me. Most are my age or just a year older. So weird.
  7. This game has been going on for an hour and 20 minutes and it's not even out of the 2nd inning...
  8. Damn I want one of those hot dogs
  9. Wow Ricky pulled him a lot earlier than I thought. I thought he would let him get destroyed for 7 runs before that happened. I am pleasantly surprised.
  10. Moncada you da man. Let's see how Fulmer does with a comfortable lead
  11. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 04:05 PM) Fulmer's stuff does not seem to generate a lot of swings and misses. That's kind of what I was thinking. He doesn't have an overpowering fastball, and his offspeed pitches aren't very deceptive. Which suggests to me he should have pinpoint control then, but that isn't there either. What am I missing?
  12. Would be friggin nice to see a game like we saw on opening day.
  13. QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Apr 17, 2018 -> 01:49 PM) 0 walks - that's the biggest problem Is it though? Look at how much Davidson is walking and he's not hitting very well right now either.
  14. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Apr 15, 2018 -> 02:51 PM) They could do it like my softball league, batters start with a 1-1 count. That should speed things up. So in essence, a full count is 2-1
  15. QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Apr 14, 2018 -> 12:46 PM) It would be too late to do this now but you wonder if they ever entertained playing in Milwaukee, as the Brewers are out of town. Obviously the Twins want no part of that though. I mentioned this in the beginning of the thread. Idea was immediately shot down...
  16. With all of these postponements, the upcoming series in Oakland (late night games) and the off day Thursday, doesn't look like I'll be doing much baseball watching for the next week. Might be a good time to catch up with the minors and follow them for a little while.
  17. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Apr 13, 2018 -> 03:00 PM) It has actually stopped snowing / sleeting here in Mpls, and Radar looks relatively clear for next 2 hours, but picks back up early evening. It's a wonder why they didn't just push it to like 3 o'clock central time. Sure you'll lose fans but the game will at least have a reasonable shot at getting pplayed.
  18. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 12, 2018 -> 08:37 PM) never been there but on TV this park looks generic AF with mediocre sight lines. I have heard from multiple people it is a very nice park to go to
  19. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 12, 2018 -> 08:34 PM) By all means call out his strikeout rate, but you sound like an idiot when you talk like Moncada isn’t one of the most physically gifted players in baseball and wasn’t a consensus #1 overall prospect like a year or so ago. If he fails it won’t be because the organization failed to identify talent or developed a “prospect crush”, it will be because they still haven’t figured out to develop players with swing & miss issues. For what it is worth, the whole league is striking out a lot more than in years past
  20. Nice heads up play. And nice to have a screw up go in our favor for once
  21. Berrios is gonna be a giant thorn in the arse for years to come
  22. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 12, 2018 -> 01:54 PM) goodness. hopefully they win tonight and just fly back to Chicago. Or better yet, why not Milwaukee? It's closer There's a roof, and the Brewers are away this weekend in New York. Weather isn't supposed to be all that great in Chicago this weekend either, at least not for playing baseball. I think they made these kinds of accommodations for the Astros last year after the hurricane.
