Not really. He is worth 3 years and at least 24 million to a team with no other options. That may be to pricey for us, as hed probably play once or twice a week.

Hahn can't just put a low ball option into the contract without McCann's approval. McCann did not want an option because he wants to be a starter and to hit free agency. Also, with Vaughn coming up, we can't hide him at DH while letting him catch part time. McCann is gone unless his market craters and he'd take limited playing time here.

He isn't ready at all. No way they don't play him at DH and sit Grandal if it came down to those two. Of course as you said,it sucks that James has to catch Gio. I wouldn’t risk a change today though, because we don't need Gio to be mentally fragile today.

This is the best lineup we could have without Eloy.

Eloy said he would play today. This is concerning because they clearly were waiting to see if he could go.

Maybe someone should tell our team this is the playoffs. No pitcher will be in the game long enough to completely suck this round with all the off days after. We are getting a filthy lefty today, not some chump. So let's not get overconfident and remain focused.

That is why I used seed and not qualifier. Baseball last year used top 5 seeds for playoff qualification. This year, the premise of the seeds are different, but they are still seeded nonetheless. Thus, if they retroactively went back to top five seeds, we would not qualify as the 7 seed as it currently stands.
