The guy said Harper isn't in any hurry to come to a decision. His exact words were: "Bryce Harper is waiting on the Cubbies to officially say they are out or come up with their package"

FWIW, the facebook insider who peavy has quoted said that harper is waiting on an answer from the Cubs; they haven't told him if they're going to be able to come up with the funds to sign him or not

Imo the media members are worried about the game dying, and I think they're all hopeful these guys go to a big market in hopes of saving the game

I think that if his Phillies meeting is just as short then I think it's good news for us, I personally think it shows that he just wanted to get both done with

If he knew he was signing there I don't think he'd want to get out of there so quickly. And if he was leaning towards the white sox after their meeting, the yankees would have some convincing to do

I don't think that the notion of "He could know he's signing there so that's why the meeting was that short" holds a ton of merit. In that case I think they would've been there for longer discussing the contract and stuff.

Definitely agree with this. While I can see them being desperate to make a move because their rivals won the World Series, they're still a 100 win team and aren't in need of a guy like machado
