Sox sent Engel to AAA Charlotte

Featured Replies

Presumably to make room for Hansen, claimed on Friday from Pittsburgh.

The organization must not think Engel fits into this rebuild. He has to be upset being demoted after playing well up here. Being replaced by Hansen has to be upsetting to him.

What? They want Engel to get everyday at-bats and he wasn't going to get those with Luery playing well in front of him.

Agreed, he will be back. He was better than May and his speed off the bench will be a great tool for the rebuild.

Ditto on the agreed to all the recent posters. From the get go, the White Sox may have felt that if he had an idea of what big league pitching through a temporary assignment to the big league club, it would help him with his development when he returned to playing everyday in the minors.

He is about a year early. Nothing wrong with giving him a taste because of injuries and such, but he is clearly not quite ready yet

That's how I see it....give daily CF work to both Engel and L Garcia and find out if either (or both) is a keeper.
