Here are guys I don't want to see on the Sox mound next season. They happen to have all pitched tonight.

Covey, Fry, Alburquerque, Holmberg and Beck. I truly would rather have Fathom learn the knuckleball and pitch than those horrific pitchers.

What's another year for some of them going to hurt? Specifically Fry, Holmberg, and Beck. If they could all harness a bit more control to limit walks and home runs, we could see some value from them over the course of the next 5 years. Doesn't hurt to try during a down year.

 

Covey wouldn't hurt to keep around in the minors but Alburquerque... he should indeed be taken out to green pastures.

I'd like to see more of Frye and Bummer next year. Also think Covey could be useful in a long relief role. Doubtful Albuquerque is back next year so that leaves Beck which I wouldn't oppose to giving hugs him one more look out of the pen next year.
