Can certainly put Petricka in that number; Putnam's best years were better than Petricka's. Even Infante and Minaya, two rather modest relievers, pitched as well last year as Petricka ever has.

100% agree. There might be something there, but a 29 year old who has never shown that much really isn't that valuable during a rebuild, especially with the sheer number of AAAA arms available.

I find it very unlikely Adolfo or Clarkin are taken in the Rule 5

Sox claim Daniel Palka from Twins.

26 YO 1B/OF. Numbers are nothing special.

34 Homers in 2016?

Never know, could be Abreu trade coming, Gillaspie in Chicago, and this guy in Charlotte.

Or not.

Do we have to put him on the 40 since we claimed him off waivers?

Yes, unless they try to move him through waivers too, and risk losing him also.

Apparently he struggled all last season with a hurt finger. Probably explains the lack of power.

No reason to take the chance. Both are very good prospects. And Clarkin easily could be pulled from the Sox, as it’s not a difficult thing to hold a pitcher on the staff, As the Sox did with Covey.
