How does Grandal and Collins rank with framing this year? To the naked eye, it doesn’t seem overly good due to how bad the umpiring has been. I’m sure I will get blasted for this, but Collins seemed way too jumpy behind the plate when Crochet was in. Cost him a few strikes.
April 26, 20214 yr Fangraphs considers blocking and throwing too, they just think framing is way more important than that. This year grandals framing is Barely above average so far but I wouldn't read so much into it this short into the season.
