He couldn’t strike anyone out if I remember correctly, but I’m surprised he never even got an audition at the MLB level during those rebuild years. kwill Posted August 27, 2023 Share Posted August 27, 2023 I agree it was the low strikeout numbers. Never really deleloped an out pitch. Additionally, He was hitting like 96 when they drafted him and by the end of his time with the White Sox he was 91-92. Velocity really backed up on him. Jake Posted August 29, 2023 Share Posted August 29, 2023 I wonder if he got hurt — his 2019 season, at age 23 and already in AAA, was very short. And then he obviously wasn't up to snuff to do anything during the COVID year. A lot of guys probably called it quits after 2020 if they were on the fringes. Adams seemed like a good candidate to convert to relief and see if he performed better in that role but it seems he's done with baseball.
