They should get a postseason ban this year, but instead it will come after the coaches and many of the players have left.

Has a team ever been banned from postseason play this late in a season?

Then they would just sit out the B10 championship?  Iowa has nothing to play for with half the team out due to injuries…maybe to cover the point spread, O/U or push PSU down to a lesser bowl where they’d play Utah instead of Ole Miss.

Feels a bit more like the Astros scandal or Deflategate where actual serious consequences were avoided.

I'm pretty sure this season will eventually get vacated by the NCAA, so in that respect it would be different than the Astros.

It took ages to vacate the Reggie Bush/USC years, for example.

I doubt it gets vacated any time soon, if at all. It sounds like Michigan is investigating the PI firm that illegally (according to Michigan) obtained documents, assuming it links to Ryan Day and Ohio St. I do think this story will be going on long after this season though.
