November 9, 200322 yr Another reason not to sign Everett is that he would make it very unlikely that Reed would make the team, and I think we have to give him a shot. I believe the arbitration rules state that we must offer him 80 % of last years salary, which would be well over $7 MM, and Carl would accept immediately. No place to play him except center.
November 9, 200322 yr most of the speculation has Everett and Tino Martinez headed to TAmpa. not sure where Tampa will use him, though. Crawford, Baldelli and Huff is a decent young outfield. Maybe Carl moves to DH. Don't think Tino has much left in the tank, though.

November 10, 200322 yr ugly'83, I read in Sporting News recently that Huff might move to 1st base. Travis Lee played there, but he's a free agent.
