I have never heard about this! This is one of the most horrifying, yet hysterical, stories I have ever read! Does footage of this game exist anywhere, or does anybody know about it being available in any form, such as radio?

Nickle Beer Night? Ahhhhh..... the good old days. :drink

I heard about it. The problems which followed are probably why no MLB franchise will ever do it again..... UNFORTUNATELY!

Disco Demolition was lame compared to this. Dont recall players "fighting for their lives" in Comiskey the night of DD.

Moving topic to the sports bar...

Hey Kid, are you actually from the Akron area, or did you just find this on-line? I ask because one of my best college buddies is from over there.

Nah, I'm from Harvard Il. A link to this was posted on another site I live at, one dedicated to beer. :drink

I can't believe I've never heard of this!

This game usually bumps Disco Demolition to the #2 spot of promotions gone wrong.

One thing that I think is always misunderstoof about DD is the fact that the White Sox planned the event. Dahl followed the script. Of course taking the blame was an excellent career move for Dahl. Sox management, and especially little Veek, have managed to avoid any blame.

I had tickets to the game but decided to sell them, at double face value, because I didn't want to fight the crowd and I wasn't up to a double header. Now I really wish I had gone.

I'm pretty sure this was William Liguie's (Sp?) first ever baseball game. He just never learned the right way to watch baseball.
