November 7, 200322 yr I used to play the Strat-o-Matic game years ago and really loved it. Some guys in school and my brother and I got together a few times a week and played against each other. Of course I was always the White Sox and my buddies picked the Twins, Yankees and Dodgers. I was wondering how many out there play this game, or similar games (like APBA) and what they think of them. I am considering purchasing the CD-Rom version. I know you can get on-line and play against others too. Anyone do that?
November 7, 200322 yr I played strat-o-matic! I rode my bike to my cousin's neighborhood on the other side of town to play everyday in the summer.
November 7, 200322 yr I've always been an APBA guy. I even went and bought the cards again after the 2000 season - guess why. Never played a computer version though. It was a good way to learn about great teams from the past, and what players could hit and run, that sort of thing.
November 7, 200322 yr I have Baseball Mogul 2003....it got boring after awhile...How is out of the park?
November 7, 200322 yr I have Baseball Mogul 2003....it got boring after awhile...How is out of the park? Out of the park is mogul X 1000 in detail. Try it out. and southsider, Season Ticket and Out of the Park are the same thing.

November 7, 200322 yr Wtf r u guys talking about? Is this PC games? Yea, they are all for the PC, or even old board games.
November 7, 200322 yr Wtf r u guys talking about? Is this PC games? yeah they're all PC baseball simulation games. Think of Allstar Baseball for PS2 with just simming the games. If you didn't look for 'em your not going know about 'em.
November 7, 200322 yr Yea I like season ticket and Moguul 2003 as i have both of them . Only b**** I have about the games are it is way to simple to sign FA they should make it harder and also where certain guys wont sign with certain teams you know. That aside they are great games no doubt.

Have the teams they want to play for, and what they want. It could be good.
November 7, 200322 yr i have both out of the park and season ticket....i recommend u try out of the park...it is unlike any game you have played and is very realistic...next years game is supposed to be even better b/c they combined the people who make puresim baseball and ootp...
November 7, 200322 yr I like Baseball Mogul because it erases the sexist views and lets women come into the league
November 8, 200322 yr Author It is obvious there must be quite a few good baseball games out there either computer games or board games. The only games were the board type when I was playing them. I only knew of APBA and Strat-o-Matic board games. I need to ask you guys concerning the othe games that have been mentioned: are they based on statistics and the extras that Strat-o-Matic and APBA use? I might try a computer version of the games rather than the board game.

In Out of the Park, all players are given talent ratings, rookies will progress through the minors and depending on your minors coach, his rating will increase.

I am wondering if the main difference is the fact APBA and Strat-o-Matic in particular are based on the last years stats? They also have player cards and ratings from past seasons. You basically are playing in 2004 for instance with teams from 2003. However, you can do fantasy drafts, your own trading, etc but you are still with a past years stats.
