Robert "Top Priority" for Philly

Featured Replies

The other side of Miller as a headliner is that we could have just drafted him ourselves last year, right?  It's annoying that we have to trade for what we easily could have had.

And in the end, is his upside the equal of Robert's?

Ideally, by taking more risk and deferring the reward, you should get more upside than what you are trading away.  Thus, the importance of careful evaluation of secondary pieces.

That should be doable; it leaves them their #1 guy and #3 or #4.  Just scout the heck out of their (and others) systems for the secondary pieces.
But Dombrowski really hasn't traded many prospects as GM of the Phillies, so we'll see.

But Getz needs to start moving.  The supply will increase in a week (especially with pitchers).  Robert and Crochet will probably still be atop the available players, but there will be a lot of others to choose from.  Toronto, Tampa, Washington, Detroit, Angels, Pitt, Cincy Texas (per this morning's article) won't go scorched earth, but will sell in varying degrees.

He can't get moving. Nobody is trading right now with the MLB Draft next Sunday-Tuesday. It'll all happen after that.

Trade with Dombo. Dude is not afraid to trade blue chippers to get his guy. Gotta respect it. Wish he was our GM.
