I want to say that at least about 10 years ago, there were some of those suites that were still empty. Also, I have read rumors that JR rejected an option to build a Camden Yards-style ballpark. But I have no idea if that's true or not. I agree with others that the lower deck, especially after the renovations that were made 20 years ago, is pretty nice. But it's still a "meh" park overall. We love it because we love the White Sox and it's our team's home. But, outside of our fanbase, it's a rather forgettable stadium in a rather forgettable neighborhood. To the best of my knowledge the suites have never been completely sold out for the season. if it did happen, I'd guess it was in 2006 after the World Series win. Yes, the HOK firm that designed Comiskey Park II said they offered JR a Camden Yards style design and he turned it down.

I think it was HOK or Ellerbe Beckett that were the two big stadium architectural firms back then...

Anyone remember how steep the second balcony was at old Chicago Stadium, no one ever complained as you were right on top of the action, best place ever to watch a hockey game and where the die hard fans sat. We sat in the nosebleeds at Comerica just last week for Detroit's home opener...and it was a great experience. Got an amazing view of Detroit, and you could clearly see the game action, and we were behind the plate. We also were in the upper deck in Pittsburgh last year, similar experience, behind the 3rd base line. Both parks' upper decks are great. Now, I will say it also can depend on where you're sitting. I've also been in the upper deck in Detroit far down the line, and that kinda sucked lol. But overall, great experience. I'd never sit in the upper deck at a Sox game, unless it's like for a playoff game (LOL) and I don't want to spend $400 for one ticket. I'd rather sit in the Bleachers or any outfield seats, which honestly aren't all that bad either.
pcq
Don't mind the upper tank at all. Met Gov. Quinn up there and sold him my vote. My fave is sleeping on the couches on club level while one of the Chevy Girls feeds me. Non-sequitor: Just discovered I was schoolmates with "Charlie Comiskey III " . He was a year ahead (1971). There is also a IV out there and they all go by Charlie it seems.
