Riordan got a week-long suspension for those comments, and it happened before Bernstein was fired for his threatening comments to some guy on Twitter about killing a fish he caught rather than throwing it back. It’s still hard to believe Riordan wasn’t ultimately canned for his mouth. I would still put money on him being dumped for a combination of saving money with a younger cheaper producer and also for his previous stupid comments. But then again, Riordan likely wanted to join a show as an on-air talent and The Score instead gave the full-time gig to the absolutely terrible Leila Rahimi to partner with the extremely boring Marshall Harris. But they probably knew that if Riordan had his own show, he would ultimately say something stupid and get the station in trouble. Either way, it couldn’t have happened to a bigger d-bag… outside of Bernstein of course.
