Looking at Meaux, why has he never been spoken of here? His control looks good. I don't understand why he is not thought of along the lines of Pachero, Sanders or like Ring was.

becuase Meaux is awfully old to have been just promoted to AA for the first time in his career this past year

The interesting thing is that they have 4 roster spots left open. That means barring trades or players getting released, we aren't looking at too much on the FA market.

I think he is a mid tier prospect. I have gone to spring training for the last five years, and although I only go for a week, I have never seen him pitch.

To clarify, we never released him. He was chosen in the Rule 5 draft last year. If there is room on the 40-man roster, why not protect that from happening again? Even after adding these four, the Sox have 4 or 5 slots left.

Agree, take a shot with him, now if we added 5 FAs and needed one spot, he could be released. Someone mentioned 4 openings yet on the 40-man, I like that, that means we may be aggressive.
