November 24, 200322 yr Author Most likely, the funny thing is Jim Duquette was supposed to have full power. He thought that 3 mill difference was a bargain to get a good closer cause Peterson and Howe are convinced they can fix Koch.

If you can save 3.5 mill by going from Weathers to Koch who you can't count on...then you do it, imo. The Sox can't just throw out 3.5 mill on a whilm that he will come back. Velocity is not something easily regained. Just ask Bob Howry or Billy Simas.

I don't see him going back to the Reds. But wherever Sully goes, I think he's gonna want a multi year deal and I think he's gonna be willing to give a discount to the team that offers is. He seems like someone who just wants to know his wife and family will be able to live someplace and be happy.
