Knights in rain delay, leading 1-0 after 3 innings  (Colson RBI single).

I assume he's probably done with the weather, but Cannon looked healthy.

3IP, 1H, 1BB, 2K. Velo seemed normal, threw a few bad misses.

Another solid line from McDougal in his second AA start: 5IP, 1ER (a solo shot), 3H, 2BB, 5K.

Gus Varland had a solid 2K rehab inning for Charlotte. Wouldn't be surprised to see him in Chicago in a few weeks.

Iriarte in June (since AZ trip): 10IP, 1ER, 5H, 5BB, 14K.

Still a little wild at times, but tough to argue with a <1 ERA/WHIP through 7 outings.

Didn't post updates on the Kanny game despite the fact that they led 7-0 after 3 innings because I suspected they'd still find a way to lose it.

And lose they did. Score was 8-3 after 6 innings, and 9-9 after 8. The tying run was a double steal of home.

They stranded a runner at second with 1 out top 9, and got walked off on a walk>WP>single sequence, because of course they did.

They were a game up for the first half title with a few days left, and have proceeded to play some of the most un-timely, anti-situational baseball I've ever seen...and I watched the 2024 White Sox.

They are riding a 11L now, and have just been completely unable to put together a complete game of baseball for going on two weeks despite some individual successes. It's at the point where you can just see the moment the "here we go again" sets in every game.

Naturally, while I was watching for the inevitable to happen in Kannapolis, Charlotte decided to walk themselves off.

Walking in both the tying and winning run for the other team (with two outs!) is quite the bold strategy. Didn't work out for them.

Barons got shutout, and WS lost 6-2. Gross day.

Charlotte was up 3-1 heading to the bottom of the ninth and Anderson struck out the first two guys in the inning. Then walk, single, single, walk, walk, walk. Game over.

That sounds vaguely familiar.
