Almost always had competitive teans, with few exceptions.

Todd Ritchie deal was really bad fwiw.

Alex Rios contract pickup. Traumatized Greg for a decade.

First Peavy trade in 2009 to SD.

Dunn acquisition broke his tenure.

I don’t think anyone they traded for Peavy even did anything. This was the point of my post.

Outside of a couple decent seasons from Kip Wells post-trade, neither did those guys really (Ritchie deal).

I kinda think it would have been worse had we had a Japanese scout the last 15 years.
