Something of a right wing perspective, but was flipping through trying to find Pistons/Spurs and ran into Unrivaled on TNT.  So got curious and looked this up.

Unrivaled is now down to just 93,000 viewers per game in its second season.

Caitlin Clark Effect again.

The wild thing is that Iowa is sitting on fifty consecutive sellouts (15,400) for women's bb two years AFTER Clark left Iowa City...have also successfully recruited two McDonald's All Americans from CA and just hosted five Top 20 ranked players from the 2027-29 classes for the Michigan game, including Olivia Johnson from (Mt.) Carmel Catholic.

Do Bill Self and Karl Ravech share a toupee, or do they just shop at the same store?

Making a sporting event entertaining enough to watch even if the teams aren't good.

Anybody else enter the Olympic ticket lottery? I got picked, so I am curious if anyone knows anything about it.

Got my time slot today, and anything reasonable was long gone. The cheapest tickets you could get to any day of track was $750. They had opening rounds of baseball for $200 each. Gymnastics, beach volleyball, and mens basketball were sold out already. Opening ceremonies were gone, but you could get to Closing for $5k each.

What did you decide on? I wonder what the secondary market will be like? I am assuming some events will be cheaper.

Secondary sale hasn't happened yet. We are doing a disney trip over NYE, plus I will have two kids in college this year, so I passed for now

Forbes list of top 500 businesses ranks Texas as #1 in number of companies and California #2. What I find interesting is both states seem to be on the extreme end of worker's rights. Texas gives away tax incentives at a rapid rate to attract corporations while touting low wages. California seems to protect workers.

I wish I found it odd how many Texas workers actually think ranking #1 is a good thing. Although SpaceX has brought some better paying jobs to the Brownsville area which created both problems and opportunities.

When Milli Vanilli got caught lip-syncing, there was a lot of blame to go around. Ironically, though, no one blamed it on the rain.

Isn't Texas also the state that has arguably lost the most illegal/undocumented workers due to stricter immigration enforcement there and in Arizona?

California definitely has much higher wages/cost of living/unionization efforts.

Not to mention environmental regulations.

That's an interesting question. My guess is we may have led the nation in undocumented workers, some who may have never set foot in another country. Most are just coworkers, friends, neighbors,

What no one talks about is how much of an inflationary pressure that no immigration is becoming. Remember all of those jobs that no one wanted to do? The people who actually wanted to do them are now being rounded up and sent away.

A majority of U.S. unauthorized immigrants live in just six states – including California (with the largest population at 2.2 million), Texas, Florida, New York, New Jersey and Illinois.
