And Acuña was getting the Vargas treatment right after the trade. I think he's going to be a bit more than a light-hitting Leury Garcia.

Lets hope so. Unbelievable that people continually cry about the bad records and say its so embarassing then double talk saying dont waste money on vets to incrementally improve the team while working in the rookies.

These vets help the young players. Every rebuild does this.No team in any sport relies solely on young players. It helps the young players to know they will get the chances to play while they also see win totals increase year to year .

That idiotic strategy would have precluded the 2 year contract to Murakami. There's also no way to acquire young players if you have nothing but young players unless all you do is sign guys like Kelenic.  People really need to think before they talk about such idiotic notions.

The drafts the last few years are way better than most drafts in the Hahn Williams years. Then they built the infrastructure to help them.

The $85M payroll isnt low enough for people yet I guess. Jerry is that you ?

It's sports-talk syndrome. Everybody gets to scream about organizational incompetence, and how everything they don't like is a fireable offense, when all they're doing is yelling the things they're too scared to suggest at their own jobs.

Weird year to pick for the Astros. They didn't actually win until they had a 40 year old Carlos Beltran and 33 year old Yuli Gurriel in their lineup, and a 33 year old Charlie Morton leading the rotation. The young males needed older bulls to help them find their way:

Don't forget Lester/Zobrist for the Cubs and James Shields/Cueto/Volquez/Zobrist for KC?

When do they get added?

2029?
