3/17 vs. Athletics

Inching closer to opening day.

Kay has been solid through 3.

Sox up 5-0 after batting around in the 3rd, Chase and Beni both with their first HRs of spring.

Between the A's broadcast so far and the Rangers yesterday, back to back games of the opponents being very complimentary of the Sox trajectory.

Kay done after 4.2IP

1 ER on a solo shot, 4H, 0 BB, 5K.

Still holding his velo well, sinker topped out at 97 and was 95-96 in his last AB.

I count his WBC grand slam as 5 spring training homers.

5 game days after today, so each rotation starter gets one more warmup each.

Paez did okay in his first Vasil impression.

Came in to relieve Kay mid inning and gave up a walk and double for a run, but retired the next 6 in order.

2.1 innings, 1 ER, 1 H/BB, 3K.

Man, that crowd is sparse.

Guess they count ST losses to the revenue totals as well.
