Guy Stuck for 10 years in French Airport

I was going to hijack Steff's thread on extradiction but thought this may make a nice thread all by itself. Basically the guy has been stuck for 10 years between countries. He can not leave the French airport.

Reminds me of the old Smothers Brothers (IIRC) about the guy who can't afford to get off of the subway so he just rides and rides.

That's a really cool story, about a truly unique man. I can understand how you'd go mad in one of those places. And the longest I've ever been stuck in an airport was 5 hours once in Denver.

OK I gotta ask, and run the risk of sounding stupid.

What does IIRC mean. Is it abbreviated internet chat? I feel left out.

IIRC is IF I Recall Correctly.

Also, at first I feel bad for they guy, but he has had two chances to leave. At the end, I was not feeling as sorry for him. He does seem like a nice man though.
