And they do seem to be doing that, which has helped his numbers.

  • Once again, the Sox OPS vs Left is .742, 108 OPS+, 7th in MLB. What is adding a 35-year-old DH who is .668 vs Left going to do? Is he going to play over Grichuk? Who gets bumped off the roster? Kinda

  • Not gonna lie he plays like a bum when it doesn’t matter and then gets up for big spots, he would be a fun guy on the bench. However, man oh man we need a Magic starter to fall to us lol

He sucks and we already have plenty of DH options for tough LHP. I'd rather pickup Robert and I don't really want Robert either.

And he can play CF and SS; dump him and they'll spend $5 mill on a utility infielder next year.
The tradeoff would be Grichuk or Doyle. Switching Grichuk for him is obviously ridiculous. I'm still not sure why they traded for Doyle, but they had their reasons and I doubt they dump him this quickly to wishcast a Suarez return to form (such that it was).

We should have Brooks Baldwin & William Bergola next year as reserve infielder options.

They've got Tanner Murray and possibly Baldwin (not sure they still view him as a guy who can see time in the infield or not) for next year as well.

Forgot about Murray, but him too.
