Playoffs???

Hold the presses…

  1. The 2026 MLB postseason begins on Tuesday, September 29, 2026.

  2. All four Game 1 matchups of the best-of-three Wild Card Series take place on this day.

Why would the Sox be hosting when the sixth seed and being on the road feels much more likely as of today?

Or that they’re falling to third seed behind Houston but still ahead of Cleveland somehow?

The one thing statistics fail to capture is the vibe around the team this week…and around Luis Castillo outings in general, as well as Mune and Kolson.

Don’t particularly like the comments from players about escaping from the high velo Pirates’ pitchers…

But sure, strength of schedule, especially at the very end hosting the Rockies…might work in their favor, eventually.

Hopefully the sweep by the Pirates lights a fire under their asses, and they take care of business this weekend. They cannot rely on other teams to lose to make the playoffs.
