Alright, I'm working on developing the new futuresox and was going to see what people think of the early stage looks of it and was going to see what suggestions people have.

 

I still have a lot of work on the left side and right side, but overall I think the color scheme is solid (Although ya all can tell me if its not). I'm also gonna do some things with graphics at the top and still am working on doing some things to the database.

 

Its kind of similar to the previous version, but the one difference is I think the articles are much easier to read. This is also using a much better coding base and has an even better database, one that I'm gonna be customizing slowly for a while.

 

Once the site goes live, I'm gonna to have all of the old stories back up and all that stuff. Right now I just through a few up.

On the left side I'm gonna have a menu bar simliar to the former FutureSox. And on the right I plan on changing the background color to black with white font. This way you have Gray, White and Black all involved. It may not be the minor league colors, but the goal of all minor leaguers is to one day wear the major league teams jersey.

 

In the downloads area, I plan on putting up all the videos I made from our past road trip (These videos have yet to be shown...taken from Winston Salem and Kannapolis, although there are photos from Charlotte as well) and then videos from the Southern League/Carolina League All Star Game. The quality is just alright on all of these because I'm simply using my folks digital camera but its pretty cool either way.

 

In the future I'm gonna try to find ways to get a lot more downloads as well as pictures of all players.

 

Other future things we plan on having that weren't on the other site are player chats, although this is still in a very preliminary stage.

 

Anyway the goal is to have FutureSox up by March at the latest with our pre-season Top 50 list. There will then be a Mid-Season top 50 and a Season End top 50. We will also do a draft preview, going over some of the top prospects as well as some of the Sox organizational needs.

 

And then a draft review as well, much like last years. I'm also going to work on working out something where we can use boxscores and since the site is non profit try to work some type of deal out with the minor league box score people to allow us to use them for free (Fingers Crossed). Cause if I can get that set up, the box scores would auto update.

Thats definately the plan. Although I've also been thinking of having a smaller banner and then some type of revolving feature with a graphic on the top, but not sure yet. Gonna fiddle with that.

 

I'm looking forward to getting it back rolling. I'm gonna probably get the site looking near ready by the end of Xmas break and then I'll put up another sneak pick

 

This time I want the site to go up looking awesome. I rushed the last one up, because I started the site right around the same time as the draft so I figured that would be a good time to get it rolling. This time everything will be working and operable right from the get-go and it will be much more organized.

 

Plus I got a kick ass staff/team

Looks pretty nice to me. I like what you have done with it. Can't wait till it is completed and ready to go.

What would be really cool for the site is to talk one of the minor leaguers into either doing a weblog for the site, or to do some kind of writing for the site. It would really separate the site from others because it would be able to say it has the involvement of our minor leaguers, first hand.

 

Try to talk to someone like Bull or Banj and see if they would be interested or if they could talk one of their buddies into it.

That sounds really cool 2k4. Kind of like a journal of the season...would be really sweet.

Maybe we could talk to Bullard or Bajenaru and see if we could have them talk to their teammates to take place in an online chat like once a month or something to that extent.

The site looks great; I read one of the articles so far too. I think it looks awesome, and if you could get a player to do a journal. That would be pretty sweet.
