December 5, 200322 yr Welcome aboard chi sports... There have been several threads on Kong, I see it happening. LA don't have many options left. We will have to wait and see. No deal is a done deal, look at the Erstad trade a few years ago.

It's great when you get to see so many passionate and knowledgeable fans of our White Sox! For the Perez deal....I've seen a lot of things saying it's really close to being done. LA doesn't have many other choices.

December 5, 200322 yr I think u'll see da deal done by the end of the weekend. The key at the moment is Kaz Matsui, and if he signs with the Mets, then the Dodgers may want Valentin as well to add some pop, but I also think they'd want Rich Aurilla from the Giants, but I've heard the Rockies made him the no. 1 priority this offseason. If we include Valentin and Konerko for Perez and Isturis it'll save us at least $5 mill mayb more.
December 5, 200322 yr I think if the sox deal Jose it will be in a seperate deal with the Dodgers. My feeling is they must be close on this deal (Although close isn't done...but I am hoping it goes down as reported/rumored). Then after that, if the Dodgers lose out on some guys either go for Itzuris (Dont' know how much sense that makes with Uribe here since they are so similar or just try and work some type of deal where you land Mota). It wouldn't be easy and I doubt it could be done, but maybe with the right haggling they could work something out.
