December 9, 200322 yr Hey guys I am new to the board, I have however been reading on here for about a month and I absolutely love this board, I find out all my info from you guys...but I just had a quick question on the Konerko/Perez deal, I know there have been all kinds of different options with the guys in the trade, but what do u think about a possible Konerko/Valentin for Perez/Cora or Perez/Cora/Izturis...I'm pretty sure that Alex Cora in pretty solid defensively maybe KW might try to get him to play for Ozzie and his brother Joey, plus it fills our hole at 2b...I think Cora/Isturis?Perez would be asking a whole lot, but just wanted your guys' thoughts....
December 9, 200322 yr Phil Rogers reported that the Sox would like to do something like this and I think thats exactly the case. THe SOx would love to do it while the Dodgers aren't too willing to, at least not yet. I don't think Evans wants to get pressured into making any type of move and I think he's right by doing this. I think the Dodgers still have some other options out there, but that deal would be great for the Sox. By the way, welcome aboard

December 9, 200322 yr Welcome to the board... If we did that deal, LA would have to be willing to take on payroll, and I am not sure how much they would be willing. I would love to get Izzy, and Cora would be okay, especially seeing how Joey is here.

Hopefully, we'd get a buyer like Colangelo or Huizenga (?) when Arizona and Florida joined the ML's..... an owner with a commitment to winning.

I think he's over paying, but damn what a difference a new owner makes. In short, I agree with you, but screw Heizengua....he dismantled the taem. Then again, even with all that he's done more so then the SOx have done in a long long time (World Series champs).

December 9, 200322 yr Welcome aboard. Definitely a possiblity since KW and Ozzie preach defense, but his .OBP and Battin Average don't exactly lite the world on fire, which is always a worry. I think Willie deserves more of a shot cos at least he got sum speed he can use, and hopefully Ozzie can develop him to a Castillo like playa.
