December 9, 200322 yr New York Daily News Well, in that case, i guess all that Sheffield can do is come to the White Sox....!
December 9, 200322 yr Sheffield is a complete idiot to screw around with the boss like that. If he doesn't take the Yankees offer, he is not going to find anything remotely close to those numbers from any other team.

We can move Ordonez to center and Elcaballo will play right...
December 9, 200322 yr I don't get this........ aside from the mathmetical answer, can anyone tell me the difference between $39 and $42 million dollars when it comes to lifestyle? Is there really a f***ing difference?? If there is anyone here that lives a lifestyle based on that kind of money (and is not headed for jail within the next 2 years), please comment.
December 9, 200322 yr I don't get this........ aside from the mathmetical answer, can anyone tell me the difference between $39 and $42 million dollars when it comes to lifestyle Being a member in a Forty Million Club sounds cooler. 39 Mill sounds like you've been lowballed and you don't even know it, fool. Extra 3 million allows you to support 3 or 4 more illegitim, er, bastard kids. Extra million means you stack a few more different colored Hummers in the garage. Extra 3 Million means you will go into gambling debts and will be murdered in your apartment (botched burglary according to police) when you're 60 instead of 55. Etc, etc etc.
December 9, 200322 yr After Uncle Sam sticks his grubby paws in it, is it really worth the extra $1.2M?? Sheesh.
December 9, 200322 yr I bet most people on this board would fly across the country in a jiffy if they could get a few extra grand a year.......And we are talking about someone else's millions!
December 9, 200322 yr The way I see it, this could heat up a Magglio-Soriano and a prospect trade. All it will heat up is the Vlad to NYY rumors...
December 9, 200322 yr So your saying he should just retire?? Come play left field with us Sheffy! We can move Ordonez to center and Elcaballo will play right... Why would we move all three guys. Sheffield is a RF, Mags is a RF, and Lee is a LF. Lee would stay in left, Mags would move to center...if we ever did get Sheffield (although we prob wouldn't have Mags anymore).

But Rex, it's not about the money. It's all a matter of respect.
December 10, 200322 yr The way I see it, this could heat up a Magglio-Soriano and a prospect trade. Looks like it already has, Maggs Article the Yanks could look into two very available right fielders: the White Sox's Magglio Ordonez and the Cardinals' J.D. Drew. For now, though, if Ordonez is moved, the Dodgers are considered the front-runners, and the Cardinals want pitching for Drew and have indicated little desire for Jeff Weaver or Jon Lieber.

Getting LA and NY in a bidding war for Maggs would be very nice.
