They finally say something about this trade and then they only talk about the Yanks who got absolutely worked by Kenny. They talk about how Steinbrenner is the zit on the face of baseball but nothing about this trades winner, the Sox. Cmon!

Who cares. Take solice in the fact that the White Sox now have a number 1 and 2 pitcher that..... when healthy..... can go up against any number 1 and 2 pitcher in the league..... possible exception is Johnson and Schilling. KW did real good today.

Yes he did and I think he deserves some congratulations. So instead of talking about the Yanks who got worked, why not talk about the Sox who worked them? Kenny deserves a pat on the back!

blame it more on the yankees for buying everyone and everything. BLAME IT ALL ON THE YANKS!!!!!

Do you really think we worked them by also throwing Biddle in the deal?

Most people agree that Cashman was the guy behind the the deal, not Williams.

yes

yes

i believe it as well, only b/c of orlando being part of the trade

I love your new sig Roman. I know you supported him a while back and were really pissed after nothing happened. It looks like you had the right assumption and I think he's only going to get better. :headbang

Reports have came out that Ken Williams was the sole orchestrator of the deal.

Williams turned down the proposed El Duque for Osuna and Delvis deal a couple days ago, and then called him back as he thought he could get a 3 way to work where everyone would be happy and in the end it was Williams who did all the work.

Way to go KENNY!!!!!!!!!!!

where did you hear this.

Chicagosports.

Ken Williams in his interview also discussed the gist of it and basically he was the sole creator of the whole deal. Check out Soxbadgers post...he gives a great overview of Williams interview for those of us that are out of towners.

Holy s***...I thought I could get on KW's good side...and then he boasts like that.

So what he basically said was 'it was all me?' Shiiiiit....what a cocky son of a b****. I suppose he doesn't remember when he got played like a b**** in the Durham deal. I hope he realizes that that was only 6 months ago.

Comparing him to Billy Beane is like comparing apples to mules....the only thing they have in common is so small that it isn't recognizable to the naked eye(that both have the letters l, e and s in them)...he isn't anywhere close to Billy Beane status yet....only Billy Beane is. Kevin Towers is second on that depth chart. K-dubb's climbing, but he's still a mediocre GM. If we had Billy Beane from the get-go, we would have already won the World Series.

He didn't say it was all me...he just said how it went on. I don't think he was bragging like an ass...just stating facts.

That clears things up a bit....but he still isn't even close to the level of Billy Beane...hell, I'd consider taking Doug Melvin over KW....even after Melvin signed both Clayton and Ritchie....but in the end, I'd make the right choice.

I think what happened is Cashman wanted to keep Colon out of Boston so KW went along and took El Duque off Cashmans hands so he could get Colon and Cashman could keep Colon out of the East. Cashman denies this but hes lyin. I know Cashman didnt want Colon in Boston...

doub.. there isnt a doubt in my mind that it was in fact cashman pulling kw's puppet strings.. .now the question is how long do we have colon for???? see cashman has made a new friend in kw... how long before he sweet talks him away???????? hmmmmmm.......new food for thought.........
