Nomar or Odalis

Featured Replies

I do not know which way I want this team to go???

Just get it done so I can ponder it later.

If it were me...I'd ask Mota and two stud prospets and take my chances at getting Washburn and Garcia when they get non-tendered.

Thats only if they don't keep Nomar.

Odalis is a throw in with any deal with the Dodgers I would rather have Freddy Garcia. I get the feeling Evans will be left out on this.

Well i rather have Williamson, Perez, Mota, and a prospect (Greg Miller) than Nomar. We than sign an a OFer and Ponson, trade Koch for Weathers/Good middle reliever and we have one hell of a pitching staff.

Loaiza

Buehrle

Ponson

Garland

Perez

Marte

Mota

Williamson

Wunch

Wright

Schoeneweis (yes, i don't think KW will non-tender him)

Koch/What ever we get in return for Koch.

1. I do NOT want ANY part of Odalis freakin' Perez for the money he is getting in arbitration. Again, check the home-away splits-- they are scarier than Todd Helton's.

2. Greg Miller is a f***ing STUD. Mota while overrated and not TOO cheap himself is still a valuable asset to LA. AND we save about 12 Mill by dealing Maggs for Nomar for those 3...........Dodgers are gonna want a cheap, major-league ready prospect like Olivo to replace LoDuca whom they also want to deal; they KNOW how much Sox want Miller&Mote and they KNOW we can barely pay Garciapara/Maggs in 2004. That's called mini-leverage. Worst case scneraio, LA will get Juan Gonzalez for less than HALF of what Maggs got.

3. I am concerned with Soctt Williamson's AL ERA with Boston, and we are not getting him for Arnie Munoz but probably for Felix Diaz-type A-minus prospect (Munoz is a B prospect at best)

I agree with Brando...screw taking on the Dodgers contract in Perez. Get Washburn and then sign Freddy Garcia when both are non tendered. Both are proven AL pitchers.

Do Mota, Miller and Edwin Jackson or their other prospect for Nomar...this is if the Sox aren't willing to sign Nomar. The Sox free a ton of money and end up getting Mota, Williamson, Jackson and Miller for Magglio and they free up a ton of money.

Then deal Jose Valentin for Carlos Guillen and after that you sign Washburn and Garcia...each for about 4-5 mill per. Deal Koch for Weathers.

Check out a pen of Mota, Williamson, Weathers, Marte, Wunsch, Wright...ya thats NASTY and a rotation of Elo, Buehrle, Garcia, Washburn, Garland....ya thats nasty.

Offensively its ugly, but Thomas, Lee and Konerko can still produce...although you have some voids still.

Of course I do want to keep Nomar...but it could make things more difficult for the Sox to have 5 good starters, which I think is a big key to winning a series...which should be the ultimate goal.

No way Washburn get's non tendered, he has too much value for the Angels to let that happen.

Everything the LA times has said is that if they can't deal them by hte 20th, they will non tender him. Which also leads me to believe, you could pick him up for rather cheap. I'd even say a Jon Rauch for Washburn deal could happen...if the sox were willing to offer up Rauch.

Nomar, Nomar, Nomar. ALL NOMAR

I'm with you there. I want Nomar to stay in Chicago, and given a contract extension as well. He may not have been good enough for Boston, but he's sure as hell good enough for us!

Well than KW better get off his ass and make a deal, because if Washburn hits the market someone will out bid us.

And this is how I see it

Washburn>Garcia>Perez

And this is how I see it

Washburn>Garcia>Perez

Yeah i see it more like Washburn>Garcia+Perez.

Yeah i see it more like Washburn>Garcia+Perez.

Don't quite see it like that...I'm more along 2k's analysis.

I do agree though, he better be ready, which is why I suggest offering Rauch for Washburn.
