I've heard that the Sox will try to get back Everett from the Expos if the Magglio deal goes through. The rumor comes from Otis on WSI. Now it may be complete crap but he did call the Nomar thing a couple of weeks ago.

 

Is it against the rules or not? Can the Sox get Everett before June 15th or not? Any lawyers out there? I'd rather have Everett than Juan Gone because of competitive attitude.

Id say unlikely.

 

If we are going to get a cheap outfielder, I think Juan Gone has a better chance then Everett to be in a Sox uniform.

Since it would be a trade for Everett I believe that it would be possible. Everett signed with the EXPOS. I did read an article on this rumor on cbs.sportsline last week when Everett signed.

While I'm not gonna rip Otis...I still find a lot of that stuff hard pressed and I think there have been at least a few of us speculating that the Sox could get Nomar..the question always was whether they'd be willing to hold on.

He'd be a superior pickup to Gonzalez simply because the Sox are desperate for left handed pop.

Yes their is, i don't know what the time frame is, but you can't trade a FA for a certain amount of days after you sign him. No sign and trades in baseball.

It's not Possible. Cause after you sign a FreeAgent you can't trade until after June 16th

peter gammons said if the arod deal falls through the sox, and roid sox will still swap. My opinion is if we get NOMAH then we'll trade jose and paulie to la for perez mota and prospects! maggs will be dearly missed but now we have an allstar shortstop and an out fielder is not hard to find

Sox keep Nomar

 

Salary status: Increase by 1 or 2 mill as Maggs makes more than Nomar this year by 1 mill and Williamson adds to slaary for this year by one mill I believe

 

Sox dump Konerko on the Dodgers who do not have too many options left and get anything in return (even Perez and a prospect is fine with me, does not have to include Mota)

 

Salary status: Reduce salary by 3-4 mill from this trade and overall reduction of 2 mill or so

 

Sox then trade Valentin for Guillen to Ms

 

Salary status: Further reduction of salary by 2 mill or so, and overall reduction of 4 mill or so

 

Sox then trade for Everett for prospects

 

Salary status: Add 3 mill or so ..... overall reduction stands at ~0.5mill or so

 

Sox unload Koch on Mets for anything

 

Salary status: Overall reduction by 6 mill or so

 

With the 6 mill remaining, sign Rafael Palmeiro and Jeff Nelson for bullpen

Thats what I figured...alright...put those pipe dreams to rest. Well...chalk that up as one reason that Otis' rumor is bs.

Sorry to break you're dream but Jose and Paulie Won't bring all that. Konerko and Jose Could land Perez Alone and that's pushing it
