Soxtalk's Madden Challenge

Featured Replies

For those interested, Soxtalk is going to have a madden challenge type of event. It will be played online using the standard rules and all that stuff.

We are considering doing it two ways, depending on how many people join. Option A will be a single elimination tournament, which would work best if a lot of people were in. Option B would be like an 8 game season, where we'd keep records and everyone would essentially play everyone (the total games could change) and then a certain number of the teams (depending on how many sign up) would go to the playoffs.

Anyway, if your interested you gotta have Madden 04 and online capabilities. Quitting results in an automatic forfeit. We'll need those that sign up to be able to play and they can schedule the games with the person they play each week.

I should add, I am definately interested :headbang

is that PS2?? and can anyone burn me a copy? cos I'm in....

Ya, its ps2 and my recommendation, find a friend with the game and borrow it :) EVeryone has to know someone that has madden, hehe. Unless people on PS2 can play people on XBOX. I'm just assuming that ps2 is the system the majority of the users have, based on what I've read over the past year or so.

I wonder if I can rent games over netflix? THAT would be cool

Anyone know about how much online supplies for the ps2 cost?

And if they are worth it? if so what are some cool features?

I wish I could join with an XBox, but I cannot. :(

Madden does not have XBox Live capabilities.

Sounds fun though. Have fun. :)

I think the adapter is about $40, and that's all you need. It plugs right into your ethernet (or 56k) connection im pretty sure.

Damn I've only got it on PC, not PS2. I've got Madden 03 on PS2, but I don't hav online capabilities either. ;)

I have a friend who has the online stuff. I might be able to play. One suggestion though Nobody should be allowed to use the Falcons because Vick simply running every play is unstoppable.

DOES anyone know how I can get online with Madden

I'm in! I don't play online madden much, but the few times i've done it, it's been fun.

And tony, no there is no subscription. I'm not sure how you connect it with a phoneline though, i use cable.

HOW do you connect with cable?

alright well this is how i do it, but this isn't the only way to do it. There is a cable running from your modem to your computer's network card. What i do is i just take the cable out from my network card and plug it into my ps2's network adapter. My PC and PS2 are right next to each other so it makes that easy, i know it's not so easy for others.

so is it just me and Jason that can play?

I am definetly in for this. My friends have named me the madden master. May I suggest something though? I think we should have a double elimination tournament, so we could have a consolation (losers) bracket, and be able to play for 3rd place, 5th place, etc. :headbang

so that makes 3.

so that makes 3.

I would if I could, but I only have Madden on GameCube.....

i would be in for sure as i have been playing online for a few months now :bringit

Jason, cool idea.

Here's to some insane-ass battles! :cheers :snr

hey dont bash what you dont know how to use... i play as falcons often but i bring a balanced attack to the table and i know how to stop vick myself

yeah he's right.......vick isn't hard to stop. Make sure you have the linebackers split to the outside, and take away the corner.

IM IN ALSO. WHEN WILL THE GAMES BE?
