I don't think that shows much class, either, by the way....he hasn't been convicted of anything yet. Not saying he is or is not guilty, either, because I have no idea. I just think it's kinda cheap to chant that kind of stuff at games. I like my insults game-related...unless is ShamME, then anything goes...
January 8, 200422 yr Yeah, poor Kobe The thing is, even if he is guilty as hell, OJ Simpson taught us that a good lawyer trumps all.

I totally agree that the chants of guilty were out of line.. but, and I hate to say it, it's expected.
January 8, 200422 yr Author Yeah, poor Kobe The thing is, even if he is guilty as hell, OJ Simpson taught us that a good lawyer trumps all. And OJ was not even close as endearing as Kobe is... No matter if he did it or not, he'll never be convicted. And the truth will never be known.
January 8, 200422 yr Yeah, poor Kobe The thing is, even if he is guilty as hell, OJ Simpson taught us that a good lawyer trumps all. SS2K4, I hope you don't think that I'm defending Kobe, because I'm not. He's a big boy, and he made his bed. All I'm saying is that I'm sure a fair percentage of the people chanting "guilty" and holding up "No Means No" signs at a basketball game are the same people pontificating to their co-workers or family or neighbors about "the lack of morals in today's athlete" and "setting a good example for children" and that sort of blah-dee-blah. Then they go to a sporting event and chant guilty at the guy with low morals. Seems a little contradictory, that's all...

January 8, 200422 yr No, I wasn't on you at all. Just in general, I sick of the drama of Kobe. Yeah, so am I. Let the system take its course, and let's see if anything resembling the truth appears through the circus.
January 8, 200422 yr I thought it was rediculas that it was the #1 "sports" story of the year on ESPN's top 100. I am so sick of hearing it too, I really couldn't care less if he is or isn't convicted.
January 9, 200422 yr IF he did this, this is NOTHING compared to the distruction of that girls life. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylc=X3oD...ov=ap&type=lgns And if he didn't do it. This is nothing compared to the overall fallout he will have had to suffer through because of some lying little slut. Just to put things in perspective.
January 9, 200422 yr And if he didn't do it. This is nothing compared to the overall fallout he will have had to suffer through because of some lying little slut. Just to put things in perspective. My sympathy for this "victim" is somewhat limited because I read somewhere in the news that she wasn't exactly an angel herself and slept with a number of different men that very week. If thats true then I strongly suspect that she banged him consentually and is playing the rape card to try a shakedown of a guy with a lot of cash. Somehow I think the only thing Kobe is guilty of here is being a s***bag husband for sleeping around on his wife.

Just to put things in perspective. Should have keep his pants zipped then... he himself got himself into this mess. If she lied, yes, it's horrible, and it's unfortunate that nothing will likely happen to her in terms of punishment.. but when you're a person of his calibur.. who has built a reputation of being above the rest.. when you fall by your own hand.. too f'ing bad. JMO..

I do want to add that even prostitutes can be, and are, raped.
January 9, 200422 yr Kobe was tried and found guilty in the Court of Public Opinion. In this court there is no presumption of innocence and no rules of evidence. The public reads info that will be presented at trial and the good stuff that can not be introduced. We know about prejudicial stuff for both sides that may never be told to the jury. I contend that in many cases the Court of Public Opinion is more accurate. I offer OJ as a leading example. How many times have you ehard the phrase "the jury will never hear this"? Sorry Kobe, that's life in the US. Why didn't you pick a play from the James Worthy playbook and call a hooker?

It's like saying someone deserved to get mugged because he carried around $200.
January 9, 200422 yr What she did wasn't criminal. It's like saying someone deserved to get mugged because he carried around $200. I never accused her of any crime, I just said that if she was the slut that the media is making her out to be then her rape charge is very suspect in my eye and its possible she might be shaking him down. Thats all. But the question of whether she was raped or not is better left to a jury with all the evidence and all the facts

January 9, 200422 yr it would be a crime to I said it was possible that she was shaking him down, I didnt say that she was for sure.
January 9, 200422 yr Sluts get raped.... Often more so than non sluts because they put themselves in positions to be raped. If you decide that jogging down Lake Street under the El tracks is a great idea at 1:00 am you may be the victim of more crimes than someone that doesn't. That doesn't make the crimes any less real. But it does stop the Court of Public Opinion from having much sympathy for you. There are some problems in this area in judging guilt and innocence. If two people are equally drunk, the man could still be found guilty of rape. The female has the claim of being too drunk to say no, the man does not have that defense.

The trouble with cases like this is that it all boils down to a "He said, She said" situation. They obviously got it on but was it consensual? I think Kobe is a scumbag for cheating on his wife like that but is he a rapist? I dont think the evidence is there to prove it beyond a reasonable doubt. If any of you saw the movie "Body Shots" that is a striking parallel to whats going on now with this guy.
January 9, 200422 yr These are always difficult to judge. But crimes are prosecuted all the time with no impartial witnesses. Judges and juries have to judge who is more believable.
