Cubs wring money out of the rooftops

Featured Replies

I have no problem with the Cubs making some money off of the rooftop people.

They're not inviting friends up on the roof to watch a game, they're building bleachers and charging 60 bucks and upwards ( FAR upwards ) per person to watch the Cubs' "product".

I'm surprised it took the Cubs this long. I agree that they should be seeing a piece of the action.

This is going to stop the Cubs hopes of adding 2000 bleacher seats though.

Never was gonna happen as long as Daley is in the mayor's office.

Maddux money?

I'm thinkin more Pudge money. Either way one of those is goin to da Cubs and one is goin to the O's in my opinion.

They are estimating it will make them about $2mil a year, hardly Maddux money.

I agree that the rooftops use the cubs product, but the mystique of that entire area makes wrigley cool.... the park itself isnt much to write home about. THe rooftops, murphy's bleachers, the redline is what makes that park special.. I think the cubs should watch their actions before that mystique gets pissed.

as much as i hate the cubs they deserve the money from those seats, if not they should have built a giant wall.

I remember the old days when it was just a few people with lawn chairs. It went from mystique, old school, and cool to crass commercialism. When the rooftops became auxilary seating; they get what they deserve.

At least the roof top owners did not fake sell outs to up the price of their tickets. (I gotta slam them at least once)
