From a Sun-Times article on performance enhancing drugs in sports:

Just the other day, Sosa told Cubs manager Dusty Baker how much he was looking forward to the coming season. "I'm so pumped, so hyped,'' Sosa said. "This is the first time I've started lifting weights in December.''

Maybe Sosa didn't know what he was implying with that statement, but I think many people assumed Sosa had put on his 40 or so pounds of muscle from lifting maniacally year-round.

From a Sun-Times article on performance enhancing drugs in sports:

No, you see in all the past years he started in November due to the shorter season.

At least, that's what the apologists will say. :D

He went on to say usually I am busy drilling my bats, adding the cork, making it look right . . .

My favorite part of the article is the headline "Drugs in sports a fact of life" with Sosa's picture RIGHT underneath it!!

It's hanging on the wall of my cubicle right now....
