Our starting lineup is way better; Our Bench is way better; The rotation is better; The Bullpen is better.

As you can tell, I love our shot this year  :headbang

Depends on the Twins and what they do. If the Twins won the most games in the American League this year, I wouldn't be shocked at all. As of now, I'd say the preseason American League power rankings are...

1) Yankees

2) Angels

3) Twins

4) Athletics

5) Red Sox

6) White Sox

7) Mariners

8) Indians

9) Rangers

10) Orioles

11) Blue Jays

12-14) Tigers, Royals, Devil Rays... Who cares? They all suck.

Well I agree with you dub except I think were better than the Red Sox and it doesnt matter if were better than Oakland or not. We just have to be better than Minnesota, which I think we can be...

yeah, on paper we are a better club..now we just need something to bring it all together (wasnt that a line from major league??)

Perhaps a cardboard cut-out of JR exclaiming, "YOU GUYS STINK." And for every Sox win, a portion of JR's clothing is removed until the White Sox win the WS

How about someone a bit better looking....the Sox would want to LOSE if it was Reinsdorf! :D

Red Sox pitching > White Sox pitching

They're close, but I'd take their staff and 'pen over ours and pitching wins.

Boston's rotation is better than ours, our bullpen is better than theirs....depending upon which one you value more, you'll find your choice for who has the better staff....I personally like having a great bullpen and having a solid rotation....though some may pick Boston's starting rotation because they like that more.

However, there is no argument you can make that will get me to think their lineup is better than ours, and our bench is better than theirs as well....so as of right now, I'd say that we are just as good if not better than Boston....as well as many other teams in the league...but that's just the optimist in me.

I'd say the only team with a clear cut advantage over us is Oakland....and who can argue that? They have a great 1-2-3 punch, a good bullpen and a good lineup....I'm not sure we could keep up with Oakland, but I know that it is possible.

I'd have to consider 13 and 1/2 games a "clear cut advantage". At a mininum, you have to give the 4 AL playoff teams from last year their respect. Boston and Seattle are also both right there. The Sox aren't better than anyone (except the Cubs :) ) until it is proven on the field.

Its amazing considering how well the A's did even though they were in the toughest division in baseball, although some could argue that the NL West is the toughest.

Either way, Oakland is one team I never want to play, cause they own us. There offense isn't near as fiersome as it used to be though. There rotation is still good, but they made a mistake moving Lidle, but they do have Lilly, so they got 4 solid guys.

Well doub, maybe you are right. But our pitching is a lot better now than it was at the beginning on the offseason. So its a lot closer than it was at first...

I don't buy into the fact that Minnesota has a better pitching staff than we do....Radke threw about 118 innings last year, and I believe Mays threw under 100, though Milton, Reed and Lohse all threw over 170 last year. That will effect their bullpen more than anything....Romero, Guardado, Fiore, and Hawkins all had career years and who's to say they will all repeat their good years? I don't think Guardado is that good of a closer and Fiore is a palm-ball specialist...Hawkins throws it hard and straight...I don't see why he can get that past big league hitters....Romero probably will be able to repeat, but I could see his numbers getting worse(if you want to call it that) with more exposure to the league. I could easily see our staff being much better than the Twins' staff. Garland, Wright, Buehrle and Colon will probably all throw over 200 innings, and that will take a big burden off our bullpen, and then that isn't mentioning how many innings we could get out of the #5 starter, whether it be Stewart, Loaiza, Heredia or, most likely, Rauch.

As I said...they don't have a clear cut advantage...they may have an advantage, but it isn't a very big one...IMO anyways....though other teams's staffs could be argued. I agree on one thing though...the Cubs' staff can't be compared to ours. :D
