Good move by the Giants. I'd of liked picking him up.

Jason, aren't you a Rowand guy? They'll never find out if he can play if they keep signing players before camp.

Yep, I am a Rowand guy. I think he'll do pretty good, but I still like having all the depth we can get.

I also think Borchard will replace him, but you never know what will happen. Borchard could end up replacing Lee if he goes elsewhere.

at 2.8, did the sfo pay too much for him?

I don't think so....but others may. I think that a .275 25 75 25 season with good defense and a good arm is worth $3 mill, especially out of CF...hell, we are giving Carlos $4.2 mill this year and he's never put up numbers that good or played defense worth a hoot or play CF for that matter.

I wish we could have signed Cruz.

Also, I don't care about how many times he strikes out....he's still worth it.

at 3 mil i too think he is worth it, but not at 4 mil. he brings alot to the table including growth. that was a hard pass that we took on not getting him here. i wonder if kw was ever in conversation with his people.

san fran is kinda short on of's...i thin kthey felt they had to make this move

Thats a fair deal. Cruz can do a whole lot of things. He's a 5 tool player that strikes out a lot. He can steal bases, play defense, hit for power, drive in runs, and he draws a good number of walks.

I would agree with that - a good signing for SF and a player that I woudln't have minded in case AR isn't ready or for when he needs day off. What's done is done. Maybe Ray Ray won't be playing outfield in SF after all.

the giants were going to use neifi perez at 2nd if ray was in the outfield...so this is a great move for the giants..they are replacing perez with cruz..

Let's replace KW with Cal Ripken. A son of a coach, an illustrious history, knows the game as well as anyone and the relaities of it, and he wanted to be a GM in Baltimore which stiffed him -- replace KW with Ripkin.

AR as you call him is not and will not start witht he team. he will start in the minors most likey b/c of his injury.

Cruz Jr. is definitely an upgrade over the departed Reggie Sanders. No need to invite him to our training camp.

Some with more have been paid less and vice versa. It's only over paying if you can't afford it.

I would rather have KW. He atleast know minior league talent. Not to mention the chance to win. Its really up to the players. I expect 1 more decent signing
