T-Minus 5 Hours

5 Hours until Pitchers and Catchers report.

And here i am up at 5:45 to go play ball...

They're so damn lucky. And it's what 80* out there.

I've never been so ho-hum about pitchers and catchers reporting for ST in a long time. So many questions give us so much to be excited about :headshake

I'm a little late but, BLASTOFF!!!!!

Man I wish I was in AZ right now.

Hell I'm excited. This is going to be a wild division since there's no clear cut favorite... and Ozzie is going to make this season interesting... For better or for worse.... After the late August/September swoon last year I'm just looking forward to a new attitude from the manager

i'm with you. this past weekend kind of depressed me, with the whole yankee thing and all, but now i'm ready for baseball again. wish i could be down there.

The time is almost here for the season to start. I don't give a rats tuckus if we didn't make any of the moves I was hoping to see made, and I don't care what that team on the other side of town is doing. I also don't care what the Yankees did anymore. I just want to see my team on the field again, and I want to hear the crack of the bat, and the slap in the mitt. :headbang

This is where we are, and that will have to do for me. I just want to see some baseball! First though is the torture of College Basketball...ugh. Oh, and now the wonderful world of driving fast also. I would rather watch 24 hours straight of Cub-love than watch even 1 minute of either of those things.

all of this year's "ifs" are making me excited and ready for this year to start. i wanna see these guys pan out and we have a great year. :headbang

I love baseball. Not just thw whitesox, but the game itself. Love it so much it's not even funny. Maybe one day, I'll be out there in the bigs showing my love and dedication to the game as I'm doing right now to my HS team. :headbang

one good thing about this season, we don't really have that high of expectations like the last few years. we were usually picked to win our division and look where that got us. I think we will be competitive in our division but at least we are the underdogs this year :D

I probably wouldn't care one way or another about him, but between the way NASCAR shoves him down my throat (via advertising and coverage during the race - HEY GUYS THERE ARE 42 OTHER DRIVERS OUT THERE!!!!!! ) and the fact rules never seem to apply to him as they are applied to the other drivers out there (the biggest one that comes to mind is the race last year were the black flag should have been dropped on him for passing below the yellow line - I think it was Steve Park/Jeff Green - whoever was the one on DEI's team at that point - that did the same thing earlier in the race and he got the black flag).

Don't hate the player Fan.... hate the game..

I sported the Chisox hoody today in honor of us opening spring training! :headbang

I'm so pumped to think that it's all starting now. This will be a fun year, there's no question. Like it's been said, we're not the favorites this year. I think this will definitely help the team. They'll be able to relax and have fun while they "surprise" the rest of the league.

if i remember right, they showed replay after replay and showed that jr. should not have gotten a black flag (which he didn't) but also that the #1 car shouldn't have either (which he did). i agree with you that driver's such as dale, gordon, stewart, etc. get preferential treatment but so do best players in every other sport (albeit not a good excuse). my biggest problem with nascar is that they don't really have set rules just "guidelines" that they can change on a whim and many of these guidelines are vague and open to multiple interpretations.

Yea, today I was rockin out da sox hat on my way to school. :headbang :notworthy Of course, the cub fans were jumping all over my back, with the Maddux talk etc.. but I had some sox fans backing me up, and we said we will let da sox play on the field to do the talking for us! :)

I read/heard mixed reviews on whether he should have or not. I still remember that one of the announcers (I can't remember which one specifically) actually said that he thought that Jr should get the flag. No one ever seems to utter something along those lines about Jr. A good example is from Daytona when Jr hit Busch (something that happens often - drivers tapping into each other) - Jr hits him, but yet the announcers says Busch hit Jr.

Anyhow, yeah, that is my beef with NASCAR, too much preferential treatment for certain drivers - most of them Chevy drivers as well :puke heehee.

And damn it, I still say Neuman was cheating last year :o - then again so did about 75% of the drivers lol.

OH yeah, I've been wearing my retro 1917 Sox jacket all winter.

I couldn't even tell you the number of people who have asked me the following two questions:

1) Is that a Boston Sox Jacket?

2) Is that really that warm?

Yes - the jacket is warm - it's a winter jacket (or so it seems).

As soon as it warms up, I'll be wearing my regular logo spring jacket.

damn i missed the busch hit jr. statement--that woulda been funny :D

your just jealous that chevy's better and has better drivers :D

and, seriously, i'd say the number of cheating drivers/teams is closer to 90%--do whatever you can to win just don't get caught

I agree about the # cheating.

Chevy was allowed changes that Ford was turned down for last year (downforce, spoiler, etc - lots of aerodynamic type stuff). This year is a new body style (or at least is supposed to be a new body style) so I am not expecting a lot while they get used to the style.

Sported the good old sox hat today. Actually I saw a bunch of Sox hats out although most people have the '83 throwback.

You are so correct. I can't wait!

It seems like just yesterday that the season ended. I really love being able to converse with real fans on here, without the gobbely-gook that is the Cubs.

Gooooooooooooooooo WHITE SOX!

White Sox
