March 1, 200422 yr After talking with other American pitchers, Are the umps more lenient on the strike zone in Japan compared to USA. With more ball parks adding that automated strike/ball gadget, our zone may be a little tighter so as not to make umps look bad over here. If that's the case, what good would his movement on pitches be if he can't get them called for strikes?
