It would be nice to have a good middle infield defense. But how good is Rollins defensively?

 

I dont think we need to give Rauch to get Rollins, throw in some other prospect. He hit 11 HRs with .245 avg.  I havent seen much of Rollins but is he going to be a real great upgrade in our SS position defensively?

Had like 14 errors last season, so its a huge upgrade over Jose Valentin.

he only hit 245??? how many steals?

Something like 38 but he was in 40's the year before which was his rookie year.

Well, that's the rumor. Doesn't mean that's who would be involved, see the recent Colon, Bartolo deal.

he's got a nasty gun, and he can actually hit the firstbaseman's mit when he throws. He's got hella lot of range, and unlike Jose he can make the routine plays as well.

get him, but not for Rauch nor Wright. Rauch is about to blossom and Danny had a damn good season last year all together, a few more wins this year and we will all wonder how he did it so fast.

I dont think KW will trade Rauch, he was in the Colon rumors as late as the same wednsday we traded for Colon, I think this is just a rumor, but if this deal happened, I wouldn't expect to see Rauch go, I would think it would be someone else. ATLEAST I HOPE!!!!!!

Yeah, i dont get why the Phillies would be willing to move Jimmy Rollins. If Rauch is involved that's another story, but Rollins is making 500K while JV is making 5 mil, it wouldn't make any sense for them to make this deal.

If Rauch is involved....I say thumbs down....no deal.

 

If Rauch isn't involved and Malone or Stewart or someone of the likes is...I say thumbs up....deal.

 

And then if we did in fact bring in Rogers, where in the rotation would he pitch....because if he pitched in the #4 spot, that would be great....we'd have a R-L-R-L-R rotation....and Rogers would be going against weak pitchers all over instead of going against great pitchers, like he was in the AL West.

I just had an idea of Kenny Roger's being a sign-and-trade in this deal. It's probably not a good idea, but it just flashed into my head.

Didn't Cerb say he heard it on the radio? If so, and I believe he did, than it would make sense as to why you can't find anything in written form anywhere.

I think i just figured out why KW would make this trade.

 

KW keeps saying he needs to be "creative", he's made it clear he wants Kenny Rogers (but dosen't have the money).

 

So, he trades Jose and his 5 mil (+ Rauch or the deal dosen't happen) for Rollins. The Phillies are then glad to take the 5 mil, because there getting a stud prospect. This gives KW about 4.5 mil in extra money, which he can use to sign Kenny Rogers.

 

Any thoughts?

Sounds to me like you got it pretty well figured out. Now we just have to wait and watch. I almost wouldn't be surprised if something went down tomorrow.

I think Cerb saw it somewhere else. If Cerb heard it, then I definately trust it.

I cant find any source for this trade. All I found is a message board on AOL sports talking about this trade. I would like this trade if it doesnt involve Rauch.

 

He stole 40 bases 2 years ago and last year had 31 SBs. We definitely need his speed. He also had 60 RBIs I think last year.

why in the hell would philly want to trade rollins???..he's 24..they own his rights for 4 more seasons...he is in the same boat buehrle is with us..the last 2 season (his first two) he has hit in double digits in doubles ,triples and homers....has speed to burn..carries a 970 fldg pct with good range...

 

this kid is to the phillies what mark buehrle is to us...would you trade mark buehrle for jose valentin and jon rauch ???...

We've had several posts saying if we gave up Rauch, it would be too much. Baggs says the Phillies wouldn't make this deal. It sounds like a possibility to me, since it seems to be pretty even from the perspective that both sides would hate to give up that kind of quality.
