Uribe

Prediction: He will beat out Jose and be the regular SS by the end of April.

Does anyone really believe Jose can hit above .225 this year? Not I.

Living in Colorado, I have seen Uribe play a lot the last three years. This kid is talented. Fantastic arm, super fast hands, speed, live bat. Plus he always starts out fast before he gets his annual case of the stupids. He is a classic case of being brought to the majors too soon == straight from A ball, because the Rocks didn't want to pay Naeffi Perez. I think Ozzie will be perfect for him. He'll help him mature, grow up, etc. Uribe and Harris can be a great combo.

Of course, Ozzie first has to have the guts to bench Jose.

I am predicting a solid yr for Jose, with around a .260 avg, 25 hr and 80 RBI.

I don't understand the skepticism. Jose is a solid SS and very good hitter. he went exclusively left handed this Spring and is tearing the it up. He leads the team in hits and RBI's I believe (or one of those areas). He wil be the SS period and Uribe will be the infield reserve. Now Harris is another story, but I am still hanging in there for Willie.

Willie has been comming on this past week in spring training. If he can keep this up in the regular season, I don't think we'll hear "Uribe" and "taking over" in the same sentence.

Whould it be hard to believe that after this season, Jose will be let go and Uribe will move over to short? To me, it seems like this season is a hold over until he can take that job and then it will be him and Willie up the middle.

Now, if Willie takes this great oppertunity to play 2nd for a good chunk of the season and falls flat on his face, then that changes everything.

Come May we will.

I predict a Valentin-Uribe combo up the middle this year.

I don't understand the "Dump Jose" thinking that seems to reapper here from time to time. He's been a very solid all-around ballplayer since the Sox acquired him. Nothing spectacular, but still solid.

I think your being a little too optimistic on Jose.

Projected Numbers:

Avg: 241

HR: 27

RBI: 78

OBP: .300

You are all going to be pleasantly suprised with Willie this year.

Not to mention he is hittin 52 points higher than Uribe, s

uribe will get plenty of at bats this year. most likely he'll be in the lineup against all lefty's, either at 2nd or ss. and he'll occasionally play against righties spelling harris and jose. depending on how hot he is or how cold harris is the number of at bats against righties could really increase.

One year with the Sox and we'll know if Uribe has it or not.
