April 7, 200421 yr Sounds cool. Maybe it will be something like the statues in Comerica along the concourse.
April 8, 200421 yr I'd really like for them to consider some sort of Walk Of Fame at some point. They could do identical plaques of past Sox greats ( with career stats and highlights ) and place them along the center field concourse and new upper deck concourse. It would be a very cool touch, IMO. Certainly better than "honoring" past Sox heroes by naming concession stands after them...
April 8, 200421 yr I don't know what the statue will look like but my choice for a representation would be if old Chas was depicted hanging from a lamp post. This is the guy who drove the 1919 team into accepting bribes to throw the series. The guys were guilty but the motivation was real. He and his family then presided over 40 years of perhaps the worst francise management baseball has ever seen. I would be pleased never to hear the name Comisky again.
April 8, 200421 yr I really think they are putting that out there as a target for our big boppers. They can have a year long "Hit the Old Roman" contest.

Certainly better than "honoring" past Sox heroes by naming concession stands after them... they have to something since they took that retired numbers off the facing above the club seats I rather like the concession stands though - we have always been known for good food! but agreed we need a more usual and traditional way to honor our greats
April 8, 200421 yr I'd really like for them to consider some sort of Walk Of Fame at some point. its not exactly a 'walk of fame' but on the interior 'concourse' on the club level they've got a thing all along the wall that commemorates all the greats of the white sox from the beginning of the team in 1900, its really cool. It goes all the way up to the past few years although it'd be nice to have something like that in an area where everyone can see it... not just club level ticket holders
