I just recieved an email from the company the hosts the message board and I've been told they will be doing some work on the board sometime in the next couple days. I'll know the exact time by the end of the day or should.

 

They have discovered a bad hard-drive on our server and it has led to some problems the past couple days, most of which wouldn't of been noticed by us, other then a one or two minute outage. What they need to do is replace all the harddrives and in doing so there will be a 6 hr downtime or so. Once again, I'm talking to them and trying to get the exact time and hopefully it will happen during the late late periods of the night till the early morning.

 

Everything should be working faster and better then ever once its done and the server should be even more reliable.

 

As I get more information, I'll pass it on to everyone.

 

Sorry for the inconvience, hopefully it will be fixed very quickly as the 6 hrs is what they told me was a maximum downtime.

I am kind of relieved it is a hard drive problem because yesterday I thought you guys had locked me out of soxtalk for a while, couldn't get the page to come up! :-)

I had a weird thing happen a couple of days ago - when I'd try to log on, I'd get a prompt to save the file to disk. It happened for a couple hours, then I was able to get in. Oh well

It must be. I haven't experienced it. I think the harddrive error is causing the sites to show funny error messages.

Quite a few times recently (like just a second ago) I got the page cannot be displayed thing. Sometimes it only needs to be retried and sometimes it last a minute or so but Ive never gotten what wsf and the critic have described...

Jason has been telling me he would change the colors around. Or atleast set it up where people can choose their own board "skin", which means each user can change the look of the board.

Well, got some great news. It seems like they have been able to fix the problem without having to change harddrives or anything. I was informed the problems some of you noticed were them working on solving the problem.

I've started a bit of work on it. It will probably take me a long ass time though. I've been really slow at things. Its kind of a test, test, test process cause I don't even have a clue what different color schemes really edit and then I got to blend it all together and for a not so artistically gifted person, it leaves me with great difficulties.

 

I did the colors a lot faster on the old board, but this one I really want everything perfect. And for those who don't want a new color scheme, the option will always be there to keep this one. Its going to be a thing where you can choose which color scheme you have by going into your profile. That way everyone is happy, unless they think my new color scheme stinks

I would love to see them in the 83 uni's, red, white, and blue with the SOX across the front. It would just be funny as hell to see guys like buehrle, crede and frank in those ugly ass jersey's
