Playing Not to Lose

When was the last time the Sox actually added insurance runs to a narrow lead late in a ballgame?

After we took the lead 2-1 the offense just started trying to pull the ball. If anyone watched the 8th inning, I don't think Rincon threw more than 3 pitches inside to our hitters the entire inning. Our RH batters have not proven to anybody that they can use the opposite field with any sort of consistency.

that was seriously one of the worst looking half innings i have ever seen the sox just looked helpless against rincon all that he was pitching was 90 91 mile an hour fastballs right by them there is no reason that they cannot hit that crede was the only one that got cantact that inning

Can someone tell me what happened with the following things (I didn't see the game):

a.) Alomar bunting? (What was the situation, inning, etc.)

b.) The 2 RBIs making it 3-2 Twinkies, and what I heard that the ump made a bad call on Marte...?

Thanks. Sucks to lose, especially to the Twins. Let's hope our offense can WAKE THE f*** UP and hopefully E-Lo and Buerhle will dominate tommorow and Sunday.

and the sad thing is, when they were hitting the ball the other way and going with the pitch a couple years ago, they were so effective too

well alomar was bunted on 0-2 and fouled it back so therefore it was a strikeout which killed the sox because they had no outs at that point and a single scored one run and a shot up the middle to willie but all he could was knock it down so one more scored

Marte might have got a bad call in there but the ump's zone was pretty small for both teams. Marte was awfully wild tonight and he really didn't show he deserved any borderline strikes the way he was throwing. He had Koch-esque wildness.

I hate giving up outs. That 9th inning bunt situation was a mistake. I thought so then and I think so now. This is not a second guess. Sandy is capable of winning that game with one swing of the bat, but they take the bat out of his hands. He's not the world's greatest bunter either. Why not Perez in that situation. Why not Perez as a pinch runner for Rowand. Why waste an out with Sandy, and then try and steal? Why attempt a steal when Willie is locked into a duel and having a good at bat?
